That's the real Achilles' Heel of the XBox One. Those of us who don't live in the U.S. will end up paying more for a console that will offer us less.
Excellent. Soon, the rumours and speculation can be laid to rest. Here's to MS having a great show.
Xenogears was much more than a game. It was something to experience, as TheOne said above. It dealt with some very mature themes, especially given the console and time of its release, and its soundtrack is some of the best game music I've ever heard.
That being said, Disk 2 is a real trial-by-ordeal between all the narration and the relative lack of save points. But even those quibbles can't detract from its overall greatness.
A Fable MMO could be a great way to open the franchise up to people who've never played the series installments.
A price cut on the memory cards, and some RPGs would make me one very, very happy Vita gamer. I can't wait to see what Sony has in store for Vita at E3.
I cannot wait to play these. FF X was a masterpiece, and FF X-2, for all its flaws, was a lot of fun to play, though trying to get the 100% completion was a headache.
Too bad there isn't a multiplayer Blitzball component. That minigame consumed so much of my time back in the day. It's no Triple Triad, but I found it a great minigame nonetheless.
I assume the author is basing sales figures on North American sales only, since the figures cited in the article are close to VGC's figures. That's the only explanation that makes sense.
I bought my PS1 in 1997, and I've never had a problem with it since then. It still works as it did back then. I've certainly never had to turn it upside down to get it to work.
My launch-model PS2 has only had a couple of DRE errors, and those related to movies not games. It's starting to show it's age, but it's still chugging along after all these years.
I guess it comes down to how people use their consoles.
I wouldn't say the b/c would give them an advantage over Sony. The PS3 had b/c at the start of this gen, and the sales stats certainly proved that many people weren't too interested in the feature.
What it will do is make the upgrade to the new console more appealing to those folks who already own a library of 360 games.
I had a professor in university who warned us to never put anything in writing that could come up and bite us in the arse, and I think the same principle applies online. Too bad he had to learn that lesson the hard way
I'd prefer 'Dark Cloud 3' first, but I wouldn't pass on Rogue Galaxy 2 if it was released first.
I hope this coming gen will see a resurgence in JRPGs on the home consoles.
I can't wait for MS' official neXtBox announcement, so these rumours will finally be debunked or validated, and we can move on to discussing the actual features of the console.
There are always going to be a group of PS fans who will slag off everything MS-related, and there will always be a group of MS fans who will do the same with any news related to the PS3. I've been a Playstation gamer since '97, but I never count MS out when it comes to their gaming bus...
Meh. Lack of BC isn't a deal breaker for me by any means. I still have my original PSX and PS2 in working order, and I'll be keeping my PS3 as well. It's funny how some people bitch and complain about lack of BC, but when the 60 Gig PS3 launched, its sales were poor, prompting Sony to do some research and discover that - lo and behold - most people who bought the PS3 weren't interested in the feature. Sony removed it as a means of cutting down PS3 manufacturing costs, thus low...
I can't wait for this game.
Again with the 'female gamer' tag. Women have been gaming since its beginnings, and I, for one, would rather the companies made enjoyable games rather than attempting to cater to what they assume female gamers want.
We want the same as our male counterparts: excellent games. That's all.
Hopefully, SMT IV will be ported to the Vita, since I don't have a 3DS.
Given the decline of audio CDs, this isn't a big deal. Now, if the PS4 couldn't play MP3s, then it would be a bigger deal. I have teenaged relatives who have never bought an audio CD. Their music collections are entirely digital.
Whenever I see articles like this talking about the demographic of the 'woman' gamer, I cringe. I'm a woman, and I've been gaming for decades. I started long before females were seen as a demographic to be 'catered' to. I play 'casual' games. I play 'hardcore' games. I play on consoles, handhelds, and PC.
If console developers want to cater to my tastes, all they have to do is release great games with strong narratives and engaging game...
I'm so looking forward to visiting the remastered Spira.
Great blog. I was really hoping for something special from MS but this focus on TV partnerships and functionality makes the XBox One a no-go for me. I live in Canada, so the TV features of the box won't mean anything up here. Thus, the XBox One won't be an all-in-one media hub for me. I'd end up spending more for a console that offers me less.
It's too bad the reveal was so drab. MS had the chance to hit a home run, and I feel they hit grounded out instead.
