As an LoK fan since 'Blood Omen' first released, this list brings a tear to my eye. I'll try 'Nosgoth' when it comes out. I can't help it. I'm too much of a fan of the series not to. I just wish it was a standalone console release.
You think that's the only reason why people think Sony 'won' E3 over MS? Just because it's cheaper?
No. Sony 'won' E3 because it presented PS4 as a gaming console with multimedia/social networking capabilities, no DRM, no mandatory Internet, and no region restrictions. Sony showcased the PS4 as a console that focuses on gamers, wherever they may live, yet still provided digital content options and the adaptability to embrace future content delivery sy...
Malboros. I find the Malboros in FFVIII the worst.
I think this feature could be an excellent addition to XB1, if they implement it properly. Will the shares be affected by the status of the source account (checking in on time, etc.)? And what happens if friends have a falling out? Will the owner of the 'master copy' of the game be able to kick someone out of their 10 and replace that person with someone else? If so, I'm guessing that shared copy will be useless to the one who got kicked out.
I'm sure MS will ...
Exactly. If gamers aren't buying games, there would be no gaming industry. Gaming isn't a necessity of life. It's entertainment, nothing more, and if something happens to drive customers away, those customers will simply move on to something else.
By pleasing the customer, you guarantee more sales and, potentially, you may gain more customers. That philosophy has been proven through all the previous hardware generations.
We'll see whether MS o...
I'm from Newfoundland, actually. St. Pierre is only 20 km away from my province's Burin Peninsula, but I'm on the East Coast, so it's a little further away.
They're French Citizens, so I'd assume they hold EU/French passports.
Fantastic news. I can't wait for PS4!
Ironically, St. Pierre and Miquelon aren't far from the part of Canada where I live. It's ironic that it will work where I am and not a short flight away.
"there's a lot of education we have to provide to make sure people understand."
The problem you're having with the One is not that people don't understand. It's the opposite. We understand the restrictions the console places on our gaming habits and experiences. And thanks to the Snowden leaks regarding the PRISM program, some of us aren't comfortable with having a mandatory voice activated 3-D camera in our homes.
I wouldn't say digital is better. It's simply another way of content delivery. I purchase digital copies of casual games, which I can share with others by simply installing my Game Manager account on their machines. The vast majority of games I've purchased for Vita are digital, too.
There's something to be said for physical ownership, though. My game collection is the map of my life as a gamer over the past few decades. And the growth of retro gaming proves t...
I have none of those things, ergo, it won't have me. Sorry, Brenna.
This would be a great way to free up space by my TV.
It could also be that those people are concerned about the future of gaming if the XB1 becomes the most popular console.
And it makes no sense to compare the PS3 to the XB1. Compare it to its peer, the 360, and it did, in fact, boast superior tech to the 360.
It's interesting how one of the biggest anti-PS3 rants at launch was about how Sony was supposedly forcing tech on people that they didn't want, and yet now, you MS fans are all about the added ...
That's exactly it. Sony's conference was bland, save for the last 20 minutes or so.
MS made the choice very easy for me: PS4.
The 'does more for the money' doesn't really translate to higher sales figures, those. The launch of PS3 proved that. If MS could have come in at a lower price point, then they'd be in a better position.
True gamers,, by the way, are console agnostic. MS apologists who are so quick to ignore the problems with XB1 are little more than shills as well.
Domestically, it will do well, but I doubt it will be as successful as the 360 was in the global market. First off, it's only launching in specific countries. Secondly, its digital entertainment licenses, etc., are US-focused and, given the nature of international licensing agreements, may never become usable outside the US. And finally, public perception and word-of-mouth can go along way.
Just look at the rocky start the PS3 had at the start of this gen. It was consider...
Yeah, it's just like the hypocrisy of wholeheartedly endorsing new tech and its high price point after bitching about how Sony "forced" consumers to buy a Blu-Ray player with PS3.
Exactly like that.
It's a must-buy from me.
What's "classic" here is the assumption that everyone else has the same Internet functionality you do, or the same cellphone. Some of us have spotty Internet connections and also have to deal with data caps. I've gone through point where my 'Net was done for a couple of days. Not to mention other circumstances - people moving to new places to live, soldiers, etc.
And not everyone has a smartphone either. I don't, because I don't need my phone to ...
