I learned that MS built the XB1 for U.S. dudebros and gaming hobbyists, not me, thus making my choice for next-gen consoles for me.
Didn't MS say that the trade-ins would be only available at 'approved' retailers'? If that's the case, then it is a problem, since it puts pressure on smaller "Mom & Pop"-type stores. In effect, they're saying you can trade in your games but only where we let you.
I think that's what's irritating a lot of gamers, frankly.
Meh. I don't see how this is any different than the constant barrage of 'PS3 Sucks and Sony is teh d000med, lawlz!!111' articles that ran throughout the launch of the PS3. It'll die down soon enough, though I'm sure it'll flare up cyclically if MS gets less than stellar sales of XB1.
It's amazing how things have drastically flipped going into the PS4 and XB1 launches.
Can't wait for this!
That would be great. I'd also really like it if Sony dropped the price on Vita memory cards. I've been enjoying the Minis games a lot and need some extra space.
That's what it should be about, buying the console that best suits your preferences as a gamer. There's no reason for anyone to buy consoles that don't appeal to them.
There's also the issue with the XB1 only working in certain countries at launch. If Sony can co-ordinate the PS4 launch to take advantage of that fact, it may give them an even greater advantage in the global marketplace.
Wouldn't matter to me. ;)
HD YouTube would be a fabulous addition.
Looks fantastic. So glad to see JRPGs on Vita.
Exactly. Had MS come out with a Kinect-less SKU for the one at the $399 price point, I think the general tone of conversation amongst gamers would be much different.
Going into E3, I was very skeptical about getting any of the next-gen systems. I ended up pre-ordering a PS4 right after the Sony conference ended. I get the same feeling, that we could be in for another gaming renaissance. :)
XB1 might have had more games at its conference, but I think Sony 'won' in terms of gamers because it provided a reasonably-priced console that lacks the online requirements of XB1 and will not impose draconian restrictions on used game sales.
It's also region free, has an upgradeable HDD, its multimedia apps won't be behind a paywall, and it won't require a camera connected in order to work.
And let's not forget that XB1 won't wo...
But don't you have to regularly upgrade PC hardware specs every couple of years in order to play the newest PC releases? I have a laptop that's only a couple of years old, and it couldn't even play the beta for the Marvel Heroes MMO without lag and frame-rate issues.
That's why I prefer consoles for the majority of my gaming. One purchase price, and I can play the games released on that platform even years after it stops being manufactured. No need to constant...
I don't even play FPS games, and I thought it looked like a lot of fun.
@Green - How are the 'MGS,' 'FF,' and 'KH' titles "megatons" for MS, when those franchises appeared on multiple platforms to start? If MS had secured one of them as an exclusive for XB1, then yes, that would be huge.
But this isn't the PS3/360 gen. Third-party multiplatform has become the norm.
Her outfit had nothing to do with her environment and everything to do with displaying her (rather ample) assets, lol - not that there's anything wrong with that. Or what about Lulu in 'FFX.?' Her outfit, with its low-cut bustier and elaborate fur/leather detailing is hardly suitable for a tropical island climate like Besaid.
If it sells copies, more power to the character designers. I, for instance, bought 'Resident Evil 4' for the 'Cube and 'Dev...
Two words. Tifa Lockheart.
This isn't anything new.
This is reminiscent of the firestorm that surrounded PS3 at launch. If MS can tough it out for the first couple of years and release a pared down SKU that focuses solely on games and less on the TV integration (for those of us in international markets who can't access the full assortment of digital content, because the XB1 was clearly designed primarily for the US market), I can see it reaching a modicum of success.
And who knows? They may mention something at Gamescon. I...
A Lego Destroyer? A joke about Loki's thing for helmets with horns?
Words can't express how much I want this game.
