It's weird comparing running the Game of the Year edition running on a modern PC with this mainly console-focused update. Compare it with the PS4 or Xbox One release. I see this happening a lot lately.
I can somewhat see the other argument, for PC players who want to replay the game now, but for anyone who played the game back then on a console or a PC it should at the very least be compared to how the game ran on a PC with the average specs back when it was released. ...
Not saying it was perfect but I really enjoyed it. One of the more unique MP experiences. Wouldn't mind them trying again.
I don't know the actual background of how this game was developed but, it does look promising. Let's see if it actually hits its February release date.
I love the 45fps mode in Horizon, perfect compromise to me, but how many people own a display that supports VRR? If you game on a monitor y]ou're fine, but a lot of TVs don't support VRR so developers have to take that into consideration.
I've had this discussion with co-workers in development and hardcore gamer friends, and opinions vary. Part of the problem is that because we've been cross-gen for two years we're used to the 60fps option. Are gamers go...
This is unfortunately the problem.
The series S is not a proper next-gen console, that's what devs are trying to say. It's holding back this generation.
When you look at when the PS4/Xbox One launched, for 1-2 years while we got a true generational leap in games people complained about PC performance, called devs lazy, etc. So the PC argument doesn't hold a lot of water. You need a great baseline to step from one generation to the next. The series S has ruined that baseline for this generation. ...
Aren't there tons of one-time-use sms services online?
Love the hate regarding things you have no clue about yet, great mindset!
Because it has cartoon elements it's automatically worth less?
Also, why not give it a chance before you reject it? I'm glad they are trying something new with the art-style, and I hope they've nailed the gameplay. Criterion has a lot of experience and it's a good director at the helm.
In the article they actually write, "In a current gaming climate where there are plenty of remakes and safe sequels, brand new iterations are hard to ...
Profitable? How much of that money is going to all the game developers they must be paying? That's what I'm curious about.
Come on :-), outside the volumetric nebulae which I do admire but am curious to see how expensive that one effect will be or if they'll go back it just being a skybox. The rest of the could easily run on a PS5. If you look at Horizon Forbidden West on the PS4, I wouldn't even be surprised if it could run on it as well at 30fps (some volumetric effects might have to be turned down but still). In a year or two's time we'll see games on the PS5 and XBSX that will be more technolo...
Yeah sort of agree with you but I've seen some people enjoy World of Guns (disassembling and assembling different guns). There's a math puzzler some might enjoy. Nothing for me, and it wasn't really a great article explaining why these games are worth checking out. I'd suggest to the author to include embedded youtube videos of the games if you are going to catch anyone.
It's funny for a couple of days, then for the game's lifespan it will just be annoying to see all these ugly characters running around.
_Looks_ great, we'll see how it plays! While not a massive fan of Patrick Söderlund, the trailer does look good and I will definitely try this one out. Trailers can deceive a lot but this is one of the more exciting-looking games in this genre that I've seen in a while.
I don't argue that publishers are greedy but there is an upside to AI tech and that is that smaller developers will be able to do more and it has the potential to bring down overall costs. There are a lot of positives and negatives that will come as these tools mature.
This. If you don't "choose" to work 12-15 hour days, you don't have a job anymore.
Really wanted to like this title and bought it despite the relatively low review scores. Biggest grip I have with the game is with how the combat feels, but I hope you end up enjoying it!
So quick note here, at most devs (speaking from experience) graphics does not hold up games. There's just about an equal amount of work being done by the game designers. God of War is a good example. Cyberpunk 2077 didn't let people down because of the burden of expectations in the art. While I never worked there, it seems like the production itself had a lot of issues in combination with the pressure to release the game before it was ready.
If the game had been man...
This is new-gen.
Can't wait until new-gen exclusives are the norm. I know not everyone has been able to get a hold of a PS5 or XBSX yet - just feels like this gen hasn't properly started yet and it's disappointing. 2023, please be the year.
For those of you that doubt this game, it's just because we've barely seen what new-gen consoles can offer. Once developers can focus on this gen only, you'll definitely see games of this calibe...
So the definition of a mascot is that they have to be cartoony and platform characters? Makes little sense to me.
Mascot, Icon, whatever word you want to use, Kratos is definitely part of that Playstation definition. And yeah, Master Chief is one for Xbox for whatever it's worth.
