It looks great, look forward to it, but they need to upgrade the rain (and snow). Forza Horizon 5 doesn't live up to Driveclub standards but to be fair, few racers have. Also a bit concerning that they didn't show weather off in the recent gameplay reveal. The volumetric effects in Driveclub is also still unmatched, parts where you drive above the clouds is amazing.

No disrespect to you, this is just how I feel: F No! This will F up the next generation of consoles (at least PS6) like Series S did for this gen. I don't want another 5-10 years of soft upgrades when PS6 launches. Matrix demo was a glimpse of what could have been, looks like GTA6 and hopefully Witcher 4 will deliver on the promise (the latter confirmed to be at 60fps). It's fully possible to have the generation jump we had from PS3 to PS4 when the PS6 launches. I don't want this ...

Just because old battlefields used weapons tied to classes doesn't automatically mean every BF game needs it. I am not saying you are wrong, we'll see what the majority says when the game comes out. I liked it in the beta that you could pick closed or open and I think BF has the numbers to fill servers and satisfy people who like both.

Battlefield 6 if anyone just wants the title name.

It's clear you've made up your mind already seeing as how they haven't released any gameplay footage. Not that I'm a huge COD fan myself but I rather they explore a bit gameplay wise even if it will no doubt be very conservative. I preferred the years when they actually tried something different and unique even if it wasn't always a home run.

UK is a part of Europe. The European Union is a different thing so just because they left it doesn't mean they aren't part of Europe anymore. This has been bugging me a little bit as of late as I see a few people make this statement, no offense intended.

Also, Steam are _thieves_ for taking 30%. That's what Nintendo, Sony and Xbox charge developers on their storefronts. They have to develop hardware which is a much bigger risk compared to Valve and except for Nintendo, they make a loss on hardware in the first year. Want to help, buy from Epic Games, they charge developers 15% on their storefront.

What's kind of nuts to me is that UE charges 5% of your sales to use your engine. Hosting a storefront like Steam is no...

Scope of games are way bigger than even just 10 years ago. Also keep in mind that Epic charges 5% for using their engine, Steam charges 30% just like Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft's stores. That's 35% of your revenue gone. Steam infuriates me because they don't have nearly the overhead console manufacturers have but they know people are unlikely to migrate to Epic Games Store (which charges 15% instead but has a shit storefront compared to steam). I love UE5 (for the most part) and...

I'm a long-time dev (am I allowed to mention this here?), worked/working on triple A games, and I don't blame people for being skeptical. To be fair, most of my dev friends were also skeptical Black Myth was going to turn out as well as it did (mostly because it came from an unknown dev). GTAVI looks _incredible_ and the "running on PS5" text on the trailer and not specifying PS5 Pro makes me even more skeptical. Also curious how they'll swing the Series S version. Havin...

From the article: "...the target of an online outrage campaign over its choice of protagonist characters..." but the article they link to has more to do with how Ubisoft is monitoring their own developers and what they can say in social media. Seems misleading. I played 100 hours of this game and my criticism of the game, while I enjoyed it, had nothing to do with the protagonists. It was the lack of discovering new things, too much meaningless loot (as usual with Ubisoft), the lack...

Add Helldivers 2 and Warzone to @Shadowfax33's list. Delta Force is doing well as well. They aren't my cup of tea but plenty of people do like them and I'll play them with friends who like them more than me. Out of the bunch I've probably enjoyed Helldivers 2 the most.

He's not saying you should buy it, he's saying you shouldn't judge a game based on first trailers. I dislike when people shit on a game before it comes out. Once it's out and it's in the hands of reviewers and other content creators and you can see that you won't like it, then go for judging it if you feel the need to. Like this guy, I just don't see the point in shitting on a game prematurely.

Don't want to be a broken record and no disrespect to you but all developers that make large budget games have to make their game scale really well. That's why the S is holding this generation back and potentially why the Switch 2 might hold next-gen back. People think you can just scale graphics down and there is some truth to that, but you are bound by the lowest performant machine that you need to release on.

_One_ example of innovative gameplay that wouldn't...

Looking at the upvotes/downvotes ratio on these articles is really interesting. If this was any other company than Nintendo, the ratio would be 9:1 instead of 5:5. Defending $80 prices on 10 year old specs for a $450 console (even if it is handheld+comes with a screen) and overpriced accessories is kind of insane. If you say that it won't drag down next-gen (PS6) multi-platform titles you don't understand game development. You have to develop for the lowest hardware that sells well in...

Problem is living costs and salaries are different in a lot of countries. If you make $60,000/year in the US, you are making a barely above average pay. If you make $60,000/year equivalent in Sweden (that's where I'm from but live in the US), you are relatively making a lot more money. But then housing is cheaper compared to the US, so are groceries etc.. so making $30,000/year isn't as bad as it would be in the US. So how do you balance the price of a game in the US and in Sweden...

I do hope that this has more gameplay variety. The first one, while still incredibly impressive, consisted so much of just walking.

It doesn't matter if you have the most powerful console when you also release the weakest console in the generation, one that has held this whole generation back significantly. Had Microsoft released X only, I think we'd be seeing a much different picture today. They didn't, so Sony, despite their missteps this generation, outclassed Microsoft. Microsoft could have had such a different path because of the momentum they had with the Xbox360 where they capitalized on Sony's mist...

14 million copies excluding game pass downloaders? Game was bound to be pretty successful given dev's reputation & MS's marketing. Still impressive considering it's at best an above average game that launched at 30fps. I played it on PC, so didn't have to deal with that. I liked it but this was not what I expected from the developers of Skyrim and Fallout.

Btw, is Far Harbor size a good size? Not sure if that comparison means good or bad for the DLC siz...

Definitely agree with @Chocoburger. If Nintendo didn't have their amazing in-house developers, it would be a different story but that's what keeping them alive. Imagine a world where Nintendo would actually push the hardware specs and what _those_ developers could do with that extra power. Hopefully the Switch 2 will at least be as strong as a PS4, maybe PS4 Pro. Of course I'd want them to have the opportunities that current-gen would offer them but knowing Nintendo, that's no...
