At least MS lets titles run at 30fps on Series S and doesn't require parity with Series X in that regard. It's good for future titles. It helps a bit, even if I don't think The Crew MF is all that great looking on any system. It's not bad, but Horizon looks better.
@MrCrimson Ah, yes, the old "If you don't like it, leave" argument. The same used when if you don't like the politics in your country you should just move. Consider what they are doing instead to be fair act of standing up to broken promises. They have a right to voice their concerns if this is true. Maybe quite a few people will leave, but that doesn't mean they should just leave quietly. There are also many reason you might not want to leave and hope management changes...
Not really. Their target specs were XBSX and XBSS, not PC that have more memory available to them. They could have made high-res textures and downressed them to the consoles but downressing has its disadvantages so most developers aim for what the consoles can handle.
Not defending Starfield although I do like it. My main criticisms are that I think the StarUI mod is something Bethesda should have done, the characters don't look triple A, the many bugs and I really don...
My personal opinion would be that they focused less on juggles and more on grounded combos so sticking out a poke and it continues to juggle an airborne enemy should go away. It just looks silly. I love MK and Tekken, but this aspect has always been silly to me. It still has some great looking combos, but the air juggles just makes the animations reset, making those specific combos look stiff.
SF has some of these air juggles, but not nearly as much. I'd much prefer the...
I got a 4090 and I maxed out everything and getting over 60fps everywhere at 4k. I think what may happen in some cases is that people forget about the CPU and I got a 13900KF. When developing for UE in general, you really need to pay attention to CPU usage.
Btw, Remnant II uses UE5 (except it doesn't use Lumen, just Nanite which IMO was a smart choice for their game) and it looks a lot better than this mess even if Remnant is not your type of game. We're still in ea...
It's also not just about physics. They chose to go with a real-time GI system. It's of course a combination of all these things but even as Sony fan I feel this site is going to hate no matter what when it comes to MS titles.
If you go look at any comparisons to the PS4 reveal of Spider-man 1, this isn't a generational leap. It's improved for sure, with higher resolution, faster web-swinging, some more detail, and 60fps performance mode but it's not the same leap we saw from PS3 to PS4. I'm still looking forward to it, I am sure it's going to be really fun but I was a bit disappointed in the graphics. FFXVI is a lot more technically impressive (from what we've seen so far).
I was really surprised by it, went into it with low expectations and it was a really good game. Having said that, I wouldn't go into it with high expectations as then you might be disappointed.
So hyped for this game. The animations looked absolutely sick, can't wait. There weren't many new triple-A reveals (with gameplay) so I agree this was the biggest IP surprise of the showcase.
Yeah, easily the best-looking game IMO with Phantom Blade not looking that bad either. Spider-man 2 looked really nice too but had its flaws (still hyped tho). UE5 is the real deal, this (Alan Wake 2) will be the first triple A UE5 game out that I'm aware of, or am I missing something?
I was expecting more graphically but it's still a stunning game. The effects let me down the most, but the rest looked really nice. The looker of the show, coming out this year, was Alan Wake 2 (with the exception of the male detective) and trailer with gameplay but no set date being Phantom Blade. Off topic but that game looks like awesome fun to me.
As for "just adding Queens", looks like the city has been upgraded and there's always the chance we'll...
I imagine there will be plenty to unlock in whatever modes they have. In MK11 you could grind for skins in the "living towers" which I personally enjoyed. There were also skins in the Krypt although I enjoyed that part less. But if you mean characters, yeah, the large fighting games haven't done that since the 90s and early 00's in the arcade days. Though keep in mind, those characters were very basic re-creations of other characters with a couple of different moves in an ag...
Came in here thinking it might have been a newer game that I'd be disappointed wasn't getting made. The Batman games have turned out pretty alright since 2008 and onwards (except for Gotham Knights and the Arkham side-scroller one).
Rocksteady killed it (in a good way) with Arkham. Hope they can "kill it" with Suicide Squad but unfortunately, I'm skeptical. Don't mind the fast-paced shooter feeling personally, but their style of gameplay in the Ark...
I think either right? Not sure about the dislikes for Vengeance1138's comment. Like someone else mentioned, Sony does own Evo so it would make sense for them to show it off there. However, could be that Warner Brothers think releasing during Sony's Showcase would have it get less attention than if they released it on Summerfest. Any developer willing to show their game on the same day as titles like Spider-Man 2, possibly a glimpse of Wolverine, Naughty Dog's TLOU multiplayer game...
Not saying you don't know this but with fighting games it makes sense they support the game and release new characters. All fighting games do this. So if you want to wait a full year for the Komplete Edition then sure, that's up to you. It really comes down to how much you're interested in the game. It's a day one purchase for me, I love the Mortal Kombat franchise.
I think that's a safe bet. All fatalities and most of the movies in the MK11 CG trailer were in the game.
Also, given that it's new-gen only with the except for Switch, it's likely the Switch version is a streaming version or (less likely in my opinion) outsourced which has never really turned out that well (with the exception of MK9 on Vita which was decent).
I'm actually pumped to see what they can do on new-gen only hardware. For its f...
And why is that? We're talking about Nintendo being the deciding factor why the hardware is the way it is. Massive profits because they realize they can get away with it. Said this before, of course profits drive all companies but, they are really taking advantage of their brand and talented development teams to an extreme. I'm not a Sony fanboy (just a "greatest experience I can get" sort of guy so own a high-end PC too) but they've fortunately kept pushing the envelope...
So very true (looking at you, Series S, with furrowed brows).
The first truly great game I experienced was SNES Zelda. I loved Nintendo for a long time but I agree with you Neutral. It's amazing to see how Nintendo followers just turn a blind eye to what Nintendo has become. Not saying they don't make fun games, but the concessions they make are truly remarkable. I'll get the same disagrees, but thankfully Sony didn't follow Nintendo's footsteps (although I haven't loved the long cross-gen period, I can sort of understand it). ...
"If it wasn't for them they would genuinely have what looks like 2 years without a single 1st party exclusive. "
That's not true...
2023: Spider-Man 2 and Forbidden West DLC
2022: Forbidden West and God of War Ragnarrok.
2021: Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart.
Sony just hasn't been announcing games WAY in advance like they used to and every one feels different about that. I personally like it.
