Many anti-cheat systems work. Arc Raiders, Overwatch etc all work just fine on SteamOS with anti-cheat.
To be honest when you have games like battlefield making you change bios settings to turn off security features on your pc, just so their game will run, you have to ask if it’s a good idea installing this stuff.
You don't get to take $300m of work for free just because a company decided not to use it. It is their property. So many socialists lurking, desperate to spend other peoples money.
Pretty sure they have been utterly abysmal with their output this generation.

They didn't support all windows games then like they do now (just about). This is a genuine way to bring pc games to the living room while removing the vast majority of blockers that pc gaming on a desktop has. .
One point to remember is that there are no generations on PC. Valve can continue to sell these machines and expand the ecosystem for years to come. Of course they won't sell 100m in 5 years but they can continue to slowly increase the userbase for decades without the hard reset that consoles have to endure.
360 still has a far superior games library
Hell Divers 2 is overrated. It’s quite fun and the tone is good but the combat is clunky and after a few hours it’s boring.
N64 and GC were very different hardware-wise. You are thinking of GC->Wii. The Wii was literally a Gamecube with more clockspeed and ram.
I haven’t read the article but I can answer the question - “because they sold 120m units and they would like to do so again”.
There is no such thing as this in the UK. You can never just fire someone for no reason.
This will just mean games will work on the console and on PC / Handheld. It 100% does not mean access to your Steam library on an xbox console which will never happen.
