One point to remember is that there are no generations on PC. Valve can continue to sell these machines and expand the ecosystem for years to come. Of course they won't sell 100m in 5 years but they can continue to slowly increase the userbase for decades without the hard reset that consoles have to endure.
360 still has a far superior games library
Hell Divers 2 is overrated. It’s quite fun and the tone is good but the combat is clunky and after a few hours it’s boring.
N64 and GC were very different hardware-wise. You are thinking of GC->Wii. The Wii was literally a Gamecube with more clockspeed and ram.
I haven’t read the article but I can answer the question - “because they sold 120m units and they would like to do so again”.
There is no such thing as this in the UK. You can never just fire someone for no reason.
Obscure still lurking and creating new accounts.
But you don’t get day one releases either GP except ultimate which is a rip off. So the message is actually very muddled.
I mean back then many gamers rented games to some degree but it was certainly never the primary way people consumed videogames. And renting today is also not the way most people get their games.
Microsoft simply do not understand creative industries, chiefly because they are incapable of being creative.
It’s patently ridiculous
Getting on your high horse, proclaiming your superior morality all the while proudly admitting you’re a thieving scumbag is not a great look.
Microsoft apologists are curious creatures. By any measure Xbox has failed and they have betrayed their loyal customers. To go online to defend them as they destroy the brand, fire people left and right and still make no decent games or do anything genuinely creative….well that’s just silly.
You are about 1% as smart as you think you are. No an Xbox is not a pc. There are both hardware and software differences. At the end of the day, the definition of a PC is what, something that runs windows or Linux? Newsflash, an Xbox doesn’t run windows or Linux.
You're rivalling Obscure now with the obsessive defence of Microsoft.
Sounds to me like he's admitting that XBox is now dead.
People need to check out SteamOS. If all you want to do on a PC is game, its better than Windows - today.
Such a lack of nuance in discourse around AI. Half the people drink the kool aid and think it will do everything they ever dreamed of and the other half want to unionize and strike.
The reality is in the middle. AI is quite useful for certain tasks and not great for others. Research shows that, despite the headlines, AI is not removing that many jobs. The job losses you see in headlines is primarily driven by companies right sizing following the pandemic.
Easy there comrade.
There is zero chance a new Xbox supports multiple storefronts. Support for steam instantly kills the Microsoft/xbox store.
Also mass market devices simply cannot support older pc titles. Imagine ‘little jimmy’ downloading an older pc title for his shiny new Xbox on Xmas morning only to be met with keyboard and mouse button prompts that he can’t find on his controller.
Never going to happen.
They didn't support all windows games then like they do now (just about). This is a genuine way to bring pc games to the living room while removing the vast majority of blockers that pc gaming on a desktop has. .
