The US doesn’t have the manufacturing capabilities to fabricate chips. Plus even if they build the plants (at huge cost) they then have to pay workers far more in those plants than Taiwanese workers who currently do this work.

When Demon’s Souls was first shown at the Tokyo game show it had a VERY poor reception. The developer was fairly unknown, the graphics were average and most importantly the game was very unsuited to playing on a trade show floor.
I think Sony can be forgiven for not having immediate faith in it.

It’s a minor win. Let’s face it Xbox have had less than 10 titles that are genuinely good in the past decade.
It’s a win in that Activision games won’t become Xbox exclusive I guess. But they never were so it’s hard to feel that benefit.

The PS3 hardware was an abortion, every single developer hated it. To be fair the PS2 was also awful but devs had no choice then as it was the only game in town. There’s a reason the 360 was the lead platform for 90% of games that gen.

They absolutely will do that from now on. Their numbers are so bent it’s laughable.
Since Sony only started scrambling to make some single player content in the past few months, i expect them to be showing mostly 3rd party stuff, some quick and easy remasters that they can turn around in 12 months and then some non-gameplay footage of the games people actually want that will end up being cross gen ps6 games and release in late 2027.
