Really? I don't want to be rude but the answer to that is in full detail directly above your comment.
I'm sorry to be the bringer of bad news but that won't change any time soon.
Some people just don't understand that a GPU is NOT simply a CPU dedicated to graphical processing. It's a whole other device, hints why current consumer CPUs don't even get into the double digits when counting cores. The GPUs on the other hand have thousands of "cores" for a lack of a better term. Again it's not really comparable because they are two different techn...
@minmur 12
@PeaSFor
This will more than likely NOT fit 3.5" desktop HDDs (which seems to be what you are talking about).
Now I'm not trolling, so please read ahead before you go into fanboy mode and immediately disagree with me. It actually has some serious pros because of this.
If it's like the PS3 then it will only take a laptop sized 2.5" hdd. This makes total sense too because if they allowed a standard 3.5"...
PhysX runs poorly on any CPU because it's designed for thousands of "dumb" workers that a GPU houses instead of 4, 6, or 8 "genius" workers that is in a CPU.
It even runs like shit even on my 3930k which is quite a expensive processor.
It's pretty much been confirmed that the price will be $730. Somebody over at OCN found that hidden directly in HTML code of the preorder page on newegg.
Still it will be a hell of a deal at that price for what it offers.
What's all this 4K talk for?
The 290x can't even run bioshock at 30fps while at 4k which is a very modest game performance wise.

Until 4k monitors are capable of outputting over 60hz and under $500, I won't invest.
My 1440p at 96hz will work fine for me in the meanti...
@ JsonHenry
Exactly.
I'll play anything multiplat on my PC every time. I'm still a GAMER though. This gamer is also pretty excited about picking up his PS4.
These comments and bickering though...They should just name this site N4T/F aka News for Trolls and Fanboys.
I'm really stopping myself from commenting on articles more and more every day. N4G just doesn't seem to be a very well tempered, polite, or educa...
And just for the record, I totally agree with you too lol.
My only complaint was the fact that this was listed on n4g. I have a 3930k and from the average tech point of view where everything get's outdated yearly, I'm quite happy with my investment seeing it's "replacments".
I reiterate, news 4 GAMERS. Maybe if it was a piece of hardware designed first and foremost for gaming.
Otherwise N4G has a specific sister site meant exactly for what you are describing, techspy.com. Otherwise I would agree. I mean come on, your N4G account even works on that site...
Of course, but it doesn't bring anything new to the table for gaming.
Like I said, their 14nm design is really catered more towards notebooks and other mobility products because of the decreased voltages and temps.
If anything it will actually hurt gamers because as you said less OC room.
But of course everyone on N4G disagrees with a very valid statement. Christ, this site...
It defiantly looks similar but worse?
Trolololol, I can just hear that playing in my head right now. Guess you never stopped to look at character or gun models. Not to mention the water which looks loads better than BF3.
Maybe it's because I'm playing in 1440p so it's more obvious? idk.
^
Exactly, but when we act "meh" about next gen consoles everyone on N4G thinks we are fanboys.
And yes, I'm buying a PS4.
Not really sure why this is on news 4 GAMERS.
Broadwell is all about low voltages and mobility. It isn't designed for gaming.
Not sure why so many disagrees.
I only own a PC for gaming currently so I haven't gotten to play GTA V. Would you really suggest me buying WatchDogs over GTA V?
"Wow.." is right and also how the subject of my PM from him. I can't believe he is going out of his way to PM people.
It's one thing to make a public argument but how dumb do you have to be to PM people thinking you can change their minds, especially with the demeaning attitude he brought along.
Just for kicks and giggles, here is our PM conversation...

I would much rather have digital copies for my Vita. Otherwise it completely kills the portability aspect.
Don't worry, loki is out of bubbles. :)
He actually tried to PM me to continue the argument while calling me a "kid" in the process....
@mhunterjr
And yet everything in that link is the description for a basic dedicated server...
@loki
So you're saying they have SERVERS to run multiplayer games and the console off of?
How is that different than what I originally said?
All I am saying is that Microsoft is making the "Cloud" to be something it is not. They are also leading people (like yourself) to believe that what they have won't be available on any other system.
Yet the PS4 is requiring anyone that plays online to pay. So more than ...
What?
It's already been proven that the term "Cloud" and "Servers" are interchangle in Microsoft's eyes.
So when they say the "Cloud" will be used through multiplayer, it's just them trying to be silver tongued while saying "Yea, we will have multiplayer servers."
It's all PR people.
If you don't agree, please prove me wrong. All you need to do is send one link from...
"The actual price is still unknown."
I just told you my credentials for my info. Newegg.com is obviously a very reputable site.
And no it wasn't for the Battlefield 290x edition, just the standard 290x.
