Yea, I've been a PC gamer for a while and multiple screens while cool in theory, has never interested me and seems like a waste of money specifically because of that.
I just wouldn't want to spend $3k on a pc and then another $4k on monitors to have a screen that's chopped up into 5 sections. I would much rather spend the money on a larger 4k monitor then playing like this at 5k.
To each their own though.
Maxing out the console and optimizing the console are two VERY different things.
If a developer is trying to make a gorgeous AAA game and doesn't get the GPU/CPU to hit max loads then something is wrong, even if it is the very first game to come out in a generation.
Now we will see where optimization gets games in a few years but the PS4 will also be doing the same. Seems like the X1 might be playing a never ending game of catch up this gen.
I've been saying this for a while but if you're not a fan of the $200 price point, look for one on ebay and craigslist.
I have found both mine and my roommates that way for around $120 each. They were both practically brand new and came wtih a few extras too!
That way it brings it down to around the $500 price point with PS4. Hmm do I want a X1 and kinect or a PS4 and Vita that not only functions with the PS4 but is badass enough on its own...
This is in the top of the Vita section yet the Vita game is a complete different version that is TERRIBLE!
Come on N4G, let's get our Vita section together.
You guys mean the bug where it would get stuck adding something from the PSN store to the download que? Only way to fix it was to power cycle the Vita and try again.
If so I have not had that issue since 3.00 either. Glad it got fixed.

Now let's wait to see if he really does stay unbanned like Yoshida promised.
Now back to you Microsoft...

Yup. I don't currently own a PS3 (although I have in the past) so I guess that's why the news slipped under my nose.
I'd actually never heard of those until your comment.
After doing some research I think I'll pick up a pair. The fact that they worked with a Vita too probably sold me the most.
Edit: It works with the Vita via the standard 3.5mm headphone cord. That's pretty lame. I think I'll keep looking for now considering this headset will be used with my PS4, PC, and Vita.
If I was just looking for a PS4 headset though that Pulse seems l...
From the article..
"it just questions whether he has a pre-order or not"
Considering he's camping out 5 days before launch, do you really not know the answer to that question?
Why would someone with a PRE-ORDER (aka a day one guarantee) camp out 5 days (or even 24 hours) prior to the launch?
I guess the writer has to have something to write about but come on.
Screw you gamestop. I knew my copy of Peter Jackson's King Kong was worth more than two cents...
Fair enough. I thought I was too over handhelds being only a PC gamer for the past few years.
Still the Vita has kept me off that PC almost daily since I purchased it. The processing power is similar to that on the PS3 so it can really pack a punch. The 5" display isn't nearly as small as it sounds. The OLED display rivals my PLS monitor in color reproduction and black levels. That's the same panel that's in the Apple's $1000 Cinema display (that I'm ...
I loved the hell out of my PS3 and 360. We had some good times.
That said I'm thankful for building my PC two years ago. The consoles were getting pretty outdated at that point. The devs were still squeezing more and more out of the systems but it was nice to get a exponential upgrade when I did.
Although now I'm spoiled since 1080p "next gen" is already lower than the 1440p I have become accustomed to. :( First world gaming problems I guess...
If you're buying a PS4 there is only 1 essential preparation.
Go buy a Vita.
Seriously the thing is badass enough on it's own. Cross-play (some games), Cross-party chat with ps4 while doing whatever you want on the Vita, Trophies, etc.
But of course remote play and second screen functions with the PS4 will be where it's at.
You can find really good deals on ebay and craigslist. I got both mine and my roommates Vit...
Nope. As I said in my comment above it has already been confirmed that ANY PS4 game has the capability of supporting remote play.
Lazy devs seems to currently be the only explainable excuse.
It's supposedly the underlying code in PS4 games that supports remote play. So yea any game developed for the PS4 can support remote play natively.
Developers spending 10 minutes to make the second L & R bumpers usable via the rear touch pad is another story...
From my understanding that's the only reason why developers might "uncheck" the ability to have their game streamed. Unless it requires the Playstation camera of course.

If anyone is curious, I recorded a video of a demo one booting up for the first time and then loading into a game...

I guess it's his job but if you would have said PC gaming I know for a fact he would have tried to sell you one of those 120hz/240hz TVs (otherwise he wouldn't have even asked that question). Kind of messed up because as I already stated those TVs don't actually support higher FPS inputs. HDMI just doesn't have enough throughput to support it.
I really doubt 120hz is going to matter for a PS4 other than maybe smoothing it out a little bit. 60fps seems to be the sweet spot for the system so you really don't need anything over 60hz.
Also FYI pretty much every TV that is "120hz" or "240hz" is actually not true. For all intensive purposes it is basically "upscaled" so to speak. None of those TVs actually allow for more than a 60fps input.
You need a computer monitor wi...
What a positive outlook you have! I'll admit that we need more of this for gaming, especially sites like this.
