Awesome. All the more reason for a remake.
Strictly as I describe it here: http://n4g.com/user/blogpos...
I certainly think then that a sequel could expand on a lot of these themes.
These are honestly looking like some of the best HD remasters I've ever seen. Gonna replay the absolute heck out of both these outstanding games.
This is the most common association of the word Panopticon. It really relates to the idea of surveillance in prison systems- by not being sure if they were being watched or not, prisoners took no risks and were forced to monitor their own behaviour and comportment. Michel Foucault discusses it in Discipline and Punish to address how the justice insitutions became diffuse and ubiquitous and not based on violent, public spectacle for punishment. You can understand a lot of things in this day an...
I hate that stupid - "it'll never meet the expectations" argument. It makes no sense. Have you played it? What exactly are you expecting? We've seen NOTHING from the game on which to base any expectations.
This isn't Duke Nukem we're talking about here, it's half life. And think about how inventive and innovative Valve are. I don't think we have anything to worry about. Just sit still, be patient, and don't lose your rag- do something els...
Looked fantastic until it got violent. Why couldn't it have Amnesia style non-confrontational horror? Sneaking around the woods trying to avoid detection by those things would be much better. It'd also be great if it was a free-form adventure, in which you could just discover stuff yourself on this giant island and piece it all together. You could like gradually make riskier forays into the wilderness, building your camp and surviving and whatnot. There could be some locations that ar...
Meh, make a spiritual successor to Jak and Daxter and Crash.
Lunar is good but it's pretty overrated. Not a single sidequest in that game. And the story had a strong whiff of American imperialism / Puritanism about it (I know it's not an American game.) The Red, White, and Blue Dragons? The "Frontier" and the "vile tribe" that lives within it? The naive and innocent hero in his weird crusader-esque armour? The "fall" from the blue moon thing?
I haven't played 2 mind you but it looks like more ...
Now that's a breath of fresh air! Finally someone who agrees with me.
Actually though, it did have A sidequest. You could fight this superboss called Faust I think, he was really easy though.
Yeah though I mean the dialogue read like it was written by a 5 year old, the story "borrowed" like a hundred tropes from Final Fantasy VII. A large part of the story involved following "the platinum haired man" (Lloyd) Remind you of anyone?
I was hoping they wouldn't put Legend of Dragoon on there, but it showed up at the end. That game sucks- serious case of rose-tinted glasses. I still like VII and most of those games, but Legend of Dragoon is shambolic.
“We hate to see all the PS4 games being FPS or action-adventure or very photorealistic,” Shuhei Yoshida.
I can't believe how sensible Sony are being!! Unless they're just cashing in on a certain zeitgeist and don't really care about the experiences that much... Mark Cerny's cool though, he should just run Sony, together with an equally cool Japanese person since it is a Japanese company.
Play Just Cause 2.
Quite a big stretch of the imagination to call XIII-2 a "terrible" sequel. I feel like the only way you could have such an opinion is if you didn't play it. It's far from terrible.
The man made Deus Ex, a game that's still better than most games these days. Perhaps Epic Mickey was a (sort of) failed experiment, but the man still knows how to make a good game.
Give em' hell.
I'm the same, and I always sort of semi regret buying GTA games. This one is definitely impressive, but I don't know, it still seems like more of the same. We're relating to this world the same way- jacking cars and shooting people. I just want to explore and discover. Why does open world nearly always = Psychopathic murderer protangonist.
Kind of just looks like Rage DLC or something, which makes sense since it's id Tech 5 but yeah, doesn't look like they customised the engine or anything... I suppose I wouldn't know though.
Well it's probably not Half Life 3 or Versus XIII or The Last Guardian. The last two are maybe verging on the niche, while Half Life probably has a smaller fanbase than GTA (which is a crime)
Being from Ireland I already got to play all the extra X stuff (Penance is the coolest boss of all time), but I never got to play Yadanoki Tower (I think it's "Ephemeral Tower" in English) in X-2, cannot wait.
Virtue's Last Reward sequel!! Probably one of my most anticipated games of all time.
I just hope that if it has to die (which hopefully it won't) we'll see the final Zero Escape game on it. Then I'll be happy.
I get an overwhelming sense that people get excited about and buy Vita games just for the sake of it- just for the sake of having games for their Vita and for possibly concealing regret. The reality is that like 60% of the games on the Vita so far are pretty mediocre. I have one, but I only own Virtue's Last Reward- a fantastic game- but...
