Looks nice. Shame it got leaked.
"The job listings describe the position as “a new type of service journalism” that includes “everything from posts about the CHEAPEST DEAL ON SOMETHING OUR READERS NEED to introducing them to new things they’ve never SEEN,” and notes that Gawker will be deriving revenue from those posts"
While you might be onto something, you seem to wilfully overlook "posts about the cheapest deal on something" as well as "introducing them to new things they’ve neve...
Such a difficult game but so amazing. Definite room for a sequel.
Keep in mind though that Versus is "a fantasy based on reality", and also that most of the places we've seen so far are based on cities in Tokyo and stuff. Agni's philosophy doesn't look nearly as "real" as Versus. The vista we see at the end of the Agni trailer I cannot imagine being in Versus. Maybe the logic of other FF games would permit it, but not Versus. Also nobody involved in Versus was involved the Agni thing, so far as I can tell.
Yeah, well I sort of agree that maybe his songs didn't cohere with the game quite as well as Uematsu's stuff did, but it's still excellent music in its own right. I listen to the soundtracks often, as well as numerous others by him, its really amazing stuff. Sometimes I think it works with the overall feel of the game pretty well too.
Nah I don't think so. I don't think Agni's Philosophy is a game, it was just a concept given CGI trailer form with mind towards a possible future title. Plus it's just too different in tone to Versus if you ask me. Weird Middle eastern slum / super metropolis? weird zombified creatures made of blood and occult magic or something? strange concoctions in coke bottles that heal wounds? Not a crystal in sight?
Nah, none of it seems to cohere with Versus if you ask...
"Kotaku should be called out for every disingenuous, sensationalist, flaming article they post"
I'm not saying they shouldn't, what I'm saying is that the issues that this poster complains about are still valid separate from who says them. You could harp on about them with a secret profit motive, but as ideas alone they're still important. Most people who ardently discuss these issues aren't involved in some ad-revenue pyramid scheme, and you sho...
Regardless of how disingenuous they are about the points they raise, the points themselves still stand. The points aren't devalued by Kotaku's disingenuous-because-possibly- revenue-driven flagging up of them. Be careful not to get the two tangled up.
Representation is still a hugely important topic in any form of media and to try and escape it is just naive and quite frankly totally disrepectful and inconsiderate. Cultural artifacts build culture, and it's largel...
Seems like a cool guy. Together with Mark Cerny I think Playstation's at least partly in some good, genuine hands.
You're a fool to be sold on screenshots (which have probably been doctored) and on graphics alone.
I wish this was true: http://www.neogaf.com/forum...
I think the XIII soundtracks are more of a musician / songwriter / composer's soundtrack, because they're some of the best soundtracks I've ever heard, and super memorable. Masashi Hamauzu is definitely an acquired taste, and you shouldn't write him off just because his music doesn't immediately gratify you. You should perhaps listen to a lot of other music before you come to it. It's more complex and rich with emotion than you probably realise or understand.
I know people will be happy to be done with XIII, but I'd still like to eventually see more games in the Fabula Nova Crystallis mythos. Type-0 is supposed to be phenomenal, and of course Versus looks amazing too, and I think the mythos has legs. Maybe we'll see some other action rpgs or even tactical rpgs (a la FF Tactics set in Ivalice).
Just because people didn't like XIII so much doesn't mean quality games can't be made within the FNC mythos, and I thin...
"If it was f2p on Vita than they would have to make it f2p on pc."
Which they might well do when A Realm Reborn is released. I think they want XIV to take XI's place.
So hang on, they basically confirmed that Versus XIII is going to be on the Ps3 AND the Ps4...
These HD remasters are some of the best looking I've seen. Gonna replay the absolute heck out of both of these incredible games.
Pleeeease be Final Fantasy XI F2P. I'd snatch that up in a heartbeat.
Oh yeeeah, wasn't a Vita port being considered?? Damn, I'd finally get to play it. I presume it'd be F2P...
Nah, Spector wins.
You can say the very same for most AAA titles. They have a veneer of "maturity" but really they're totally immature and juvenile. Be gunning down hundreds of people or "cool" soldiers, or "cool" murderous assassins with "awesome" choreographed ways of gratuitously dispatching people, or women in tight clothes with enormous assets, or women in the games purely as sex objects, or stereotypical ethnic characters, or general displays of ineptitude when ...
