Absence of turn based fighting = death of the JRPG?
Probably should have played some more jrpgs before he published this.
Also, FF has always been about innovating and constant change. Each game is supposed to be super different. Granted there have been some mainstays, but X-2, XII, XIII, XIII-2, and now XV have all been doing things differently.
Birth by Sleep and DDS are both excellent games, and they also feature by far the best KH level design. I mean, I'm sure Nomura will contribute a helluva lot to this anyway.
I'm still a little concerned. Did they intend to go the same route as MS before all the rumours about Xbox One started cropping up and receiving universal outrage from fans?
I can't tell if they're maybe being a little bit disingenuous here... i.e. it's purely business that's motivating this "pro-consumer" patter. They sound really genuine and down-to-earth and transparent, but I just don't know. I think Cerny's a great guy, but still, I...
Yes, an action 'RPG'. My point is that people think this now looks like some sort of Uncharted game, but it clearly has big RPG elements. At least as much as KH, which is a lot.
All thes people making judgments like,'this is nothing like an FF game, this is an action game'...
You don't have a controller in your hand, you have no idea how it plays. In all likelihood it plays like Kingdom Hearts, but greatly evolved.
Oh you're such a mature adult. Funny how you don't realise how juvenile and ridiculous most modern videogames are in the first place. Most of your 'mature' games are just male power fantasies that treat their themes SUPER broadly and naively.
This game on the other hand, promises extraordinary depth.
Most of Nintendo's 'baby' games are miles more inventive, creative, fun, and innovative than half the crap you probably play. These g...
The good: Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts III
The bad: All that entertainment BS at the start. Also the Vita didn't really recieve any major new titles...
The ugly: Plus now required to play online. (Worried they;ll retroactively apply this to Ps3 and Vita.) I guess it's a trade off because of no draconian used game / always online drm policies.
The missing: The Last Guardian
"Why? It's not a big deal, that is why it's trivialized."
Jesus...
Do you have any idea what you're saying? You do realise rape victims are quite often severly beaten, sometimes even to death? The impact this can have on families and on the individual? Rape can be and often is life destroying, and can very easily lead to suicide. You do also realise that rape victims often experience intense psychological problems after such a traumatic ...
The gameplay reveal / playthrough actually surprised me. I've said this elsewhere, but I usually don't like how 'broad' Bungee's games feel in terms of their themes and their nomenclature, but I was actually genuinely intrigued by that video. Dare I say it, I actually got a bit of a Half Life 2 vibe in places. Needless to say that's a good thing, but obviously the game won't be anything like HL.
Still, looks pretty good, and just when I thought I c...
More??!! Oh my God this game looks good!
ALSO, THIS GAME LOOKS LIKE THE BEST GAME OF ALL TIME.
EDIT: Guy in the comments saying the graphics are "underwhelming"
You mean the Xbox One Two
Hmmmm, well they had an online multiplayer component in Birth by Sleep. I suppose it wasn't really necessary though. I did everything it had on offer without the need of other players.
I suppose I'd be fine with it if it met the following criteria:
1. In Birth by Sleep, you can get a lot of the best stuff in the game by completing the Mirage Arena, but since the Ps4 now requires a fee to play online, I think it'd be better if the multiplayer was c...
But people understand this is a different context to a work of creative art. This is a conference for an electronic entertainment product, not a work of art.
Think about how ubiquitous advertising and marketing is. The conference IS a form of these things, and I think it's advertising that needs to be more considerate.
I mean, advertisement and marketing speak to us in a certain way. They sell themselves, they highlight only the best things about their pr...
Ummm, rape jokes aren't really funny dude. Maybe they seem funny because we've padded the issue with humour for so long, but I don't think that's something we should do. Kind of contributes to the trivialisation of the issue in society- people's understandings of it become coloured by and blended indistinguishably from the humour derived from it.
The humour we derive from such an awful thing necessarily involves a distorted representation of it, which can ...
Good points and thanks for being civil. I appreciate it.
This is the hole we've dug ourselves into. The history of inequality makes such remarks dangerous, and we can't just irreverently ignore that history- that'd be disrepsectful to the billions who lived and died before us.
Thus we first need to reverse engineer assumptions built into that humour, because that humour itself thrives and is generated by those cultural assumptions or foundational ...
Rough release dates for XV and KH3 would put those worries fully to rest.
I'll just post what I already posted on another article:
It's more of a super condescending remark feeding into a female stereotype or ridiculous assumption about women and videogames. I don't think a rapist says something like that, unless they're a real psychopath. Still, very patronising and pretty sleazy. I mean, who greenlit that script?
It also kind of contributes to videogames as exclusionary to women. As a remark it condescends to mak...
I juuuust hope it doesn't take them another six years to upgrade it... Then we get another trailer at e3 2018 for the Ps5 / Xbox One 2 version.
It's just a little bit worrying that there still isn't even a rough release date.
Still, it looks absolutely fantastic. I don't think that trailer could tide me over another 6 years though.
Rrrright... Wait though doesn't the Ps4's OS also have 3GB of ram dedicated to it? Or was it 1GB?...
This'll be cool. Her KH stuff is great, but I think the more light-hearted tone of that game kind of restricts the tone of her music. It'll be sweet to hear her tackling something more serious like this. What we've heard so far is pretty cool. Kind of straight forward but I'm still excited to see what else she comes up with.
Masashi Hamauzu is my favourite, but he could probably use a break. He's worked on all the Lightning games so far, and has an awesome...
