That's the word I was looking for! Washed out. Especially that New Atlantis place, which also looks kind of uninspired in its design, imo.
It just doesn't look novel to me. Every FF game has always looked so new and fresh, but this looks like typical medieval high fantasy with a few little JRPG-ish things in it. It also kind of looks like nothing that they haven't already done with XIV. I'll still buy and play it because I'm a fan of the series, and I've played many of the games, but I can't imagine this one even coming close to being my favourite.
"Release landscape"? Speak like a normal human being, please.
Re: Mind should have been like a New Game+ ending or something - like a secret true ending.
Superbosses should not have been DLC.
There should have been an optional or secret world or worlds.
They should choose the setting for worlds better. For example, the Toy Story world should have been the neighborhood. The toy store place was godawful.
They shouldn't include worlds unless they are substantial. Twilight Town...
Reminds me of that fake gameplay trailer for Final Fantasy XV - the one that turned out to be CG. It's hard to imagine the final game looking and playing like this.
Also, I'm really hoping that Quadratum doesn't turn out to be another San Fransokyo - lifeless and with arbitrary boundaries.
Cannot wait. Hard to tell if that image is a screenshot or artwork. Either way, since The Last Guardian was an evolution of Ico in a lot of ways, I wonder if the next game will be an evolution of SotC? The place in that image looks pretty big an open...
Well it's easily one of the worst games I've played, and I did play it from start to finish, but it was torturous. I don't how I did it, but I think I just wanted to play it to be able to say I played it.
I had forgotten about the side-quest thing, actually. I was a little bit disappointed with that in an "RPGs are supposed to have side-quests, wth" sort of way, but at the same time, I wasn't enjoying myself, so I was glad that the game would soon ...
Sorry to be a hater, but this game sucks. The music is absolutely horrendous, 50% of the battle system is guarding every turn to recover health, and the other 50% is frustrating, repetitive attacking (think Renzokuken from FFVIII, but that's literally IT), and both combine to make battles interminably long. The inventory system is a nightmare. The translation is utter dogsh!t, the characters are dumb as sh!t and completely flat, and the story just feels like a bad imitation of Final Fanta...
Scam Shitizen.
Why not, I suppose. 5 and 6 first though, because 4 already got a total remake.
It looks very e-sports-ish. I'd be very surprised if this is the actual final logo though.
Fingers crossed for remakes of Final Fantasies 5 and 6 in this style.
In my experience, SquareEnix almost never discount any of their games. It seems to take years for them to finally do it.
Madness. They're already getting more than they would from Steam because EGS takes a smaller cut, and on top of that, VIIR isn't even a new game. Pure greed. Meanwhile, wages globally continue to be stagnant.
Also, there's no way anyone is paying that for Forspoken. It doesn't look even nearly good enough. There was a big chance of it flopping to begin with, but now that's guaranteed.
There must be some very strong coke being passed ar...
Nah, The Last Guardian.
Yeah, it's REALLY cringey. Enough to put me off it almost totally, which is a shame because the visuals are incredible and it looks really fun.
I mean, I'm a PC gamer, and I own a lot of games on Steam, but the Switch has popular appeal that this thing will never have. Everyone and their grandmother knows what a Nintendo Switch is.
This is old news, but it's nice to hear that SE haven't forgotten about it or brushed it under the carpet. Seems like it could definitely happen someday.
Uninspired and colourless environments, bad script, bad character designs (isn't the main guy just Cor Leonis from 15, just with blond hair? The heck is that about?), and the gameplay looks boring. They should have made a game that looks like Final Fantasy but plays like a Souls game (with some sort of twist though). Instead, it looks like they've made a game that mostly looks like a very middle of the road Souls knock-off.
I think this needs to be completely overha...
It's kind of hard to believe that they've gone from making games with ~200 dungeons with around 5 different themes to over 1000 PLANETS that are all unique and worth exploring. I'd say that the point of the vast majority of them will be to build a base on them for yourself. Having 1000 planets to choose from for this is just Bethesda trying to do the whole "everyone's experience will be different" thing. I'd say most of them will be very, very empty.
