Weird that The Song of Saya is on steam (literal pdf file stuff), while this isn't. This game looks like absolute garbage, so I don't really give a crap, but it's content seems fairly tame, relatively speaking. Modern Doom and Mortal Kombat games are like 1000 times more gory, and the erotic stuff, while pornographic, appears to just be regular sex. From what I can gather, there isn't any real sexual violence. I find it hard to believe that Valve are "censoring" this...

Couldn't they have just made it so that your ship can transform into a buggy or something? I mean, what sort of space / planetary exploration game doesn't have moon buggies? It's a bizarre omission. Would it really be any different to implement than horses in TES?

They MUST have known this would be an unpopular move, and yet they still did it, probably because they want to sell that stuff as DLC down the line.

My favourite one, but I don't think it needs a remake. I mean I'd still buy a remake day one, but I've been holding out hope for X-3.

Also, does remaking X, which is arguably the biggest, best, most iconic game in the series next to VII, mean that it'll get the same multi-part treatment as VII? As much as I love the VII Remake, I'll be old and grey before I can fully play a X remake if that's the approach they're planning on taking. They'd al...

I mean it'll be when Sephiroth kills you-know-who. You'll probably have to fight him at the Forgotten City

So I guess this is one of those 1:1 remakes, like Crisis Core, or Shadow of the Colossus. I would have preferred a Final Fantasy VII or Resident Evil style reimagining. Remakes like this one tend to look very similar visually - just ultra-realistic rather than having an actual style, like the games they're based on had. I feel like this project would have been a lot more ambitious had Kojima and his guys been involved in it. This seems like a safe, cheap way to "remake" the game...

I mean The Talos Principle 2 was huge. More people should be talking about that.

The "biggest" announcements were super mid. They really cheaped out with that MGS trailer, and Kojima clearly had nothing to do with it, because it was really uninspired; and Spider-Man 2 looked ugly af (plus the script was cringe).

I'm sure it will be a solid game, and I have a feeling it's going to do very well indeed, but I really hope this doesn't lead to SE never making fantasy sci-fi FF games ever again. We've got more than enough western grimdark medieval high-fantasy stuff in every single medium. It's a genre / aesthetic that's absolutely done to death. That's what's always been wonderful about the Final Fantasy series - each game is always so unique and original compared to just a...

"Yozora is much more than a grueling secret encounter; he is a reflection of what Kingdom Hearts' bosses should be"

No thank you. If every boss in Kingdom Hearts was like Yozora, the series would be unplayable. That's not to say that they shouldn't include such challenges, but making them fundamental to the game would be too much. And don't say that this is what the From Software games are, because Yozora is absolutely harder than most of the bosse...

It does seem to have the broadest appeal of any of the games so far. Hopefully there's more to it than meets the eye though, i.e. the medieval high fantasy, GOT stuff is just a way to draw people in, and then they get bait and switched with full-on FF magical sci-fi greatness.

"believer in nfts and crypto" - you make it sound like some sort of idealistic, progressive thing. "Believers" in this case are just the kinds of people who are always on the lookout for the next get-rich-quick scheme.

Definitely a good story on paper, but SE are inconsistent in terms of quality when it comes to telling stories through the medium of videogames. I don't think they did the written story justice. The same is true of Final Fantasy XV, but that game kind of made up for this in certain ways.

I'll always argue that the XIII series has some of the best music in FF history, though. The general art design is great too - the monsters and summons look amazing, as do the envir...

"It's sad to see people's personal view impact a score of a game so much."

First time reading a review, eh?

Tbf, First Soldier was very clearly made purely to generate money. That's why all these big companies make mobile gacha games. That game was never going to be around for long - same as the vast majority of games similar to it. Ever Crisis on the other hand seems like a more serious project.

Big time. I hope it gets a console version like Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition did.

Eh, she's pretty innocent in all this. She was going off a script and a director. Not to mention good voice work is a hard thing to pull off. It's rare that facial animations and voice work line up very well, unless you're like, Pixar or something.

I think she approached the job with enthusiasm, and gave it her best shot. I think it's everything else that let her down.

This is a good game, and you can't change my mind. I can't see them remaking it, though. They'll probably just cover it in Ever Crisis. It wouldn't do well if they gave it the same treatment as Crisis Core, they'd need to change it pretty drastically for people to like it. I'd like it either way, but I'm in the minority.

Well we've already gotten a glimpse of one sexual scene in like the first or second trailer, iirc. Garuda lady and Odin guy are in the nip and either about to get it on, or just have. I doubt we'll see much more than that though.

Yeah, I noticed this a while ago. They drained all the colour out of it, and all the magic effects look really gritty. The original trailer looked amazing visually, but it didn't look un-doable. I didn't think it would get such a downgrade - SE games usually look about that quality. They really need to lose the Luminous Engine.
