This game, for all it's repulsiveness, seems really interesting. Just how it seems to deal with violence in the media and in entertainment, as well as the nature of authority. Also the surreal aspect of it is really enticing.

Finally, what seems like a violent game that isn't mindless. (Still monstrously violent, but with what seems to be quite an intelligent point to make)

You're going to have to elaborate on how exactly VII was "cliche even back in the day". Seems to me like you could only be making that judgment from the perspective of today. That or you've played some similar games that you've mistakenly believed came before it.

Brainwashed by modern games, he's forgotten how to appreciate the classics. (Maybe he never even learned.)

Yeah I played one of the Ezio games (think it was Brotherhood) for an excess of 60 hours. (Single player)

This is good news though. If there's one thing you can praise AC games for, it's that you get value for money. None of this 4 hour story BS.

Yeah this kind of art needs to stop.

Hmmm, sounds a little bit buggy, but no more than the previous games... The camera not working issue sounds new though, and pretty frustrating. The Hay Bale thing seems kind of dumb too, is that in previous games?

"The trees in the Frontier feel very artificial, the paths that the branches make poke in the eye more than the ones in the cities"

I don't understand this. ^^^ Is the person saying the trees crowd the screen and it's hard to see w...

I can't make sense of Evil Cole and Fat Princess being rivals...

Heihachi and Evil Cole should be rivals, but then you have Toro and Fat Princess... I'm not sure that works either...

Also why do people always say "without further adieu"? That doesn't make sense. Adieu means goodbye. "Without further ADO" is correct.

Yikes. I wonder how much of that they'll make back on account of the leak...

Yeah because tomahawking a man to death / hanging a man with a grapple tree branch pulley system is, "badass"... *rolls eyes*

I don't want to play as homicidal psychopaths anymore.

Deus Ex over this any day for me.

It's not a jrpg. It's a visual novel with point and click puzzle stuff.

Goddamn I need this game. 999 is one of the best games I've ever played.

Ya see, while I don't really agree with day one patches, there's still the issue of people thinking they're entitled to these luxuries. We're greedy consumers, not to say that the corporations and companies behind modern videogames aren't greedy themselves, but there's just this thing of consumers thinking they're owed so much and they deserve so much, like they forget about the people making the game completely.

A day one patch is usually necessar...

I just think, what are the guys programming this simulation thinking now that their simulated people are talking about their reality being a possible simulation.

BRAIN BECOMES MUSH.

Hmmm, Paul Gale is claiming that this "isn't what we're expecting" but is still cool in some way. I'm taking it to mean that this ain't Playstation All-Stars related.

On a non-related note, who is that BABE in all these trailers??! Me oh my.

People shouldn't take this as meaning Skyrim is some sort of intellectually rich game. The course is examining it as a cultural artefact, and how it follows a tradition in the west of scandinavian culture being adopted for high fantasy narratives and worlds etc.

Skyrim is not an intellectual landmark. It's not a completely stupid game, but it's not a work of genius either, like a lot of games.

I don't know about that moegooner88... I heard some kids, that couldn't have been older than 6, unsupervised, in a gamestop, arguing about Nuketown and other maps from Black Ops.

It's not a good thing that a game as effing stupid as COD has become so culturally ubiquitous. Big videogame corporations feeding us fetishistic representations of war... no thanks.
