When I got my PS3, I was in that exact situation. 25" SDTV and no wireless internet. The Wi-Fi I was able to get fairly quickly, but it was almost a year later before I was able to get an HDTV.
When I bought my PS3, I considered it an investment. With an investment, the right now isn't as important as the what will be. Looking back now 3 years and looking forward to what's coming soon, I've made the right choice for me.
That, actually. I prefer the PS3, but the 360 is a fine system as well, with plenty of features and lots of great games.

I plan on doing the same thing, actually. I don't use my cable television; I'm not even sure where exactly I put the cable box. I just use the net.
I was excited as hell to see this press release; I love Hulu. 40% of my weekly time using my PS3 is watching TV via Hulu. I wish Sony would so an cross-promotional agreement with them with both their television division and their gaming division: put Sony's shows on Hulu and put Hulu on the XMB of the PlayStation 3. Everyone wins!

With Sony E3 leaks coming left and right, I was starting to get worried hearing nothing whatsoever come from MS. Forza 3 is great news, but they better have a hell of a lot more than this come June. They need to be talking about Halo Chronicles, Alan Wake, and whatever the hell else they have going on, and they need to have solid release windows for everything. If not, Sony is going to steamroll them.

I can understand your second two points to a degree, but as for your first point, have you not read IGN's inFamous previews? Greg Miller won't stop talking about how awesome inFamous is.
I sure as hell won't. And it's not because of the "Eff you" that they're giving PS3 owners (although that doesn't help), but mainly because I don't see why I should pay $60 to be a beta tester.
