"In fact, Sony had grown arrogant about designing products that anticipated, rather than followed, consumer tastes," Chubachi said
"Producing a hit without listening to customers is inefficient, and we may even strike out," said Chubachi.
i just don't understand how they can say this with a straight face, and yet FORCE PS3 buyers to purchase Blu-ray for an additional $200.
Chubachi acknowledged Sony had grown overly confident of its cathode-ray tube TV technology, failing to see how slimmer TVs were "an entirely new category."
Chubachi needs to have a few words with Ken and Kaz then. and he needs to poll future purchasers of PS3: then he'd discover that over 90% of them would trade Blu-ray for a $200 cheaper price tag.
What?
well yeah. it doesn't take some CEO whose probably in danger of losing his job to tell us that. i'm curious though: couldn't Mr. Sensui have used his resources better by figuring out a way to save the 360 in Japan instead of telling the world what it already knows?
one of my most awaited games. if PS3 isn't getting it, then i'll just pick it up for my 360. no biggie
i was debating whether or not to respond to this article. i just KNEW that swarms console-war-comments were gonna flood the feedback. so far so good. its refreshing to see such civil discussion going on in a news thread. we should keep it this way. PS3>360? PS3<360? naw. they're BOTH good.
oh, and i'm glad someone posted the interview. i'd read it a short while ago but never posted it. glad to finally hear something positive about the PS3. can't wait to see thi...
is there a way to deactivate your profile? i think i'm done with this site.
fanboys just can't cope with such mature logic. i for one agree wholeheartedly with you.
um dude, you have NO idea where i'm going with this. there's a BUNCH of comments below that could use your fanboy idiocy. how bout you get to it?
you have STILL not answered my question. i'm not attacking or defending Sony. i'm just trying to figure out why it's fun seeing "Fony" fans believe them? i come to this site strictly to get news (and to set some people straight when they error). when i read analyst comments like "PS3 will still dominate over the Wii/360" or "New Poll shows Public like 360 more than PS3" i don't even bother reading or replying to it. quite simply i have better things to do wi...
i find it disturbing that all this discussion and debating is centered around an article founded by the Inquirer.
i'm just trying to figure out how you don't believe Sony, yet you're willing to "waist your time" reading news concerning stuff they say. thats all. i just find it weird that most of the XBox articles have little by way of feedback, whereas Sony's articles are plagued with negative Microsoft-fan feedback. case in point:
Bungi will announce new game at X06: 2 Hours ago: 11 comments
IBM says Cell production going well: 1 Hour ago: 42 comments

does it matter?
well, you have to believe SOME of it; otherwise you wouldn't be here posting about it. if you believe its a lie then why is it worth commenting about?
considering how well they delivered with Halo i'm interested in seeing what new they can produce.
here's what Robert Huebner, a 36-year-old video game developer from Marin County felt:
"I find the titles I've viewed so far to be more than adequate as launch titles; noticeably better than normal DVDs and quite seamless in their presentation. Blu-ray, despite the delays, feels like a finished, polished product. For me the quality bar was to see something that looked better than cable HD broadcasts from HBO, Showtime, etc., and Blu-ray definitely delivered that."
not much competition for the 360 so OBVIOUSLY they should've been voted the best. nevertheless its good to hear. congrats.
i'm not sure about the whole EA bit (like DJ said, from what i saw at E3 EA's hoop game looked pretty good, with improved animation, footplanting etc.), but as far as THQ it was simply a matter of optimizing the game for the PS3 instead of porting it from the 360. the Smackdown vs. Raw series has always founded its home on Sony's consoles. the cancellation (or more appropriately postponement) was simply a matter of waiting to make it right. besides, wasn't Gears of War supposed to come out...
this guy is a PS2/3 fan? so what if he is. however, you DO know that this guy--Mark Rein--heads Epic, the same company thats developing 360's Gears of War, don't you?
moreso than Assassins Creed, Bioshock, Halo 3, Heavenly Sword, Warhawk, Resistance, Gears of War, Lair, Fable 2 etc., i'm looking fowards to FFXIII. BRING IT ON!
