no offense, but this is all beside the point. it isn't Sony's or anyone elses place to tell the consumer to get a job just so that they can afford what Sony is selling. Sony needs to cater to its pre-existing and future consumers, not the other way around. the fact that they have come under attack (and in some cases rightfully so) doesn't bode too well for their future prognosis. despite the fact that i'm buying a PS3 release day i still believe that they need to change their strategy if ...

the problem with Sony is they are trying to make the PS3 this set-top box inspite of the fact that it is primarily a game system. for this to work they MUST realize that the overwhelming majority of PS3 purchasers are buying it as a game system, and they should cater to them. gaming should be the utmost goal for Sony with the PS3; all other features should just be treated as additional. when Sony talks PS3 they should talk gaming primarily, not how its a PC or a Blu-ray dvd player. this i...

well to be fair, Sony was instrumental in the adoption of both CD's and DVD's.

hopefully he'll announce a PS3 price-drop by ditching the yet-to-be proven Blu-ray disc drive, and rumble in PS3's controllers by relenting from being an egotistical ego-whore and paying Immersion the money they're due. and hopefully well see Killzone 2, rendered in real-time just like it was pre-rendered at E3 2005. here's to wishful thinking.

just like i asked some other person in another article: can you PLEASE refer to anything i have ever written on this site that was derogatory about either the 360 or the PS3? if Microsoft makes some lame brain decision then yes, as a consumer of theirs i'll make my business to point it out. no different with Sony and their questionable decision to make PS3 $200 more expensive with Blu-ray.

well maybe he got a 360 with the hopes of getting a next-gen experience and he hasn't yet, which has made him rely on XBox games. besides, why would he keep the original XBox with Microsoft all but burrying it as inconsequential?

hey, don't try to swing the blame my way. the disc is flawless. Halo works perfectly (go figure), and i got it used from a friend of mine. it has one scratch on it and it play JUST FINE. yet Fable, brand new, not even with dust on it, freezes, jumps and all sorts of things. and this isn't an isolated incicent: maybe your supposed flawless experience is, but 360's bc issues are wide-spread. if Microsoft knew they couldn't do it right then they shouldn't have ever done it at all...and yes...

whether or not UT 2007, Assassins Creed and Heavy Rain are coming to the 360 is inconsequential. to date, all three games have been shown only for the PS3; meaning that what's been shown has been rendered on the PS3 console. the 360 may be able to render those graphics tic for tak; but thats just speculation: we have no way of knowing for sure until those games are actually rendered on the 360. and yes, i know what marginal means: just because i prefer Sony doesn't mean that i dislike Micr...

how can there be an analysis on how the system works when its specs have only recently been finalized? up until recently most of what's been seen on the system was rendered with beta kits: i count six games (Heavy Rain, Assassins Creed, MGS4, Lair, UT2007 and Heavenly Sword) which look at least as good as the best 360 games to date, and they're done on beta kits. even in one of links you posted it said that the PS3 was unproven because it hadn't really been tested (the only other two links ...

they don't need to WIN in Japan to win overall, but they DO need to do better than they are to win overall. at this point i couldn't even guess what they need to do to do better: they have Blue Dragon and Team Ninja, and some decent support from Japanese developers Capcom and Namco going for them; that should be enough for them to at least remain lucrative. but it remains to be seen if even these can withstand the behemoths knowns as Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy. oh well, just as long Mi...

you're so eager to start a flamming war that you've missed the gist of my argument. apparently people do care about bc, otherwise Microsoft (who seems devoted to PUBLIC INTEREST) wouldn't bother with it. i've recently tried to go through Fable Lost Chapters as an evil wizard, and it's frozen up on me at least six times: other times it jumps, or i get a "need to clean your disc error" even though the disc is spotless and my system freshly turned on. what i was saying is that Micro...

again, you're basing your opinion on personal speculation. neither has Microsoft nor any credible gaming-site said anything about a 360 price cut. like most sites say, Microsoft doesn't need to cut the price of the 360, especially when its nearest competitor (PS3) is considerablly more expensive. and an "eventual" price drop is a vage opine: eventually both Wii and PS3 will have price cuts as well. so again, if you're gonna compare 360/Wii prices to the PS3, do it objectively: $...

don't be selective with your argument paul. you're speculating that the 360 will drop in price, even though Microsoft has explicitly stated that it won't. so, if you're gonna buy a core 360 and a Wii, then compare their prices to the core PS3, which is $500, less than the comparitive $600 for a both a $300 core 360 and $300 for a Wii. besides, you STILL get more with the CORE PS3 than you would with a PREMIUM 360, let alone a CORE 360, Blu-ray notwithstanding

yeah, Microsoft IS looking nervous. they sit around dissecting the competition as if they don't have problems themselves. hardly any of my supposedly backwards compatible XBox games work on my 360 except for Halo. why don't this Andre dude work on that?

i guess neither of you knows how to read or do math? 200,000 until Oct. counting July that will be 600,000. production will then ramp up to 2 million for Oct: thats 2.6 million. all this, and not even counting Hon Hai Precision Industry Co Ltd , who will soon begin production on the PS3 consoles for Sony as well. but why am i bothering with either of you cynical fanboys?

my bad. different read. i was confusing this article with another anti-Sony DFC article i read about a month ago.

i read this on gamespot.com close to a month ago. just another attempt by the anti-Sony loyalists to diminish the PS3's popularity.

360's Game Clan opens, new features for NHL2k7 are announced, there's an interview with the developers of the Darkness, NCAA ships to stores, and Microsoft makes a ton of Live/Arcade announcements (including demos for Test Drive, Saints Row and apparently Table Tennis), and all of those articles are nearly barren of feedback. why? because every Tom, Richard (can't use the name i wanna use, since its apparently forbidden) and Harry who calls himself a gamer...ahem, fanboy decides its best to...
