the fact remains that Prey and Chromehounds were to be the summer blockbusters for the 360, enough to make me actually go out and buy the system for them. luckily for me i got GRAW and Oblivion, and am eagerly awaiting GOW, cause Prey sucked and Chromeshound's best review was like 7.2 out of 10. you, however, followed your own advice about Prey despite the droves of 360 fans who said it would be the next best thing this side of air-freshner. why not do the same with the PS3? droves of 360...

and so is Resistance. you point?

but how do you know this? unless i'm mistaking, there has been no demo of GOW released yet on Live, and i'm pretty positive you didn't attend E3 to play the game. so how do you know this is a case of the "game making the hype"? it seems to me its the other way around, much like with everything else that hasn't been released (MGS4, Assassins Creed, Huxley, Halo 3 etc). you're selectively choosing your information to formulate your subjective opinions: not the way of a true gamer....

like Prey was supposed to be? ;-/

"Resistance is just another FPS like Doom or Quake."

then by that sentiment Halo 3 is just another fps, just like Doom, Quake and now Resistance. you're totally looking at this from the jaded perspective of a fanboy. try being a TRUE GAMER for a while, and you're relize that Resistance (along with Halo 3 and GOW) looks great. in any event i have no doubt GOW will be a great game...maybe not quite as original as fanboys would make it out to appear (from the pictures...

if anything, this poll is more indicative of what the general populace of Japan thinks, as opposed to Fatismu, which is geared specifically towards gamers. in any event they are both just polls: much like analysts' analysis, neither is really concrete proof of what will actually happen.

looking good and sounding promising. can't wait.

i'm quite sure achira hasn't actually played Resistance (much like me, he's probably just excited by the simple fact that the game looks good, and its made by the creators of the lauded Ratchet and Clank, who also have experience in the fps' genre with the critically acclaimed Distruptor). but the truth of the matter is everything shown of Resistance so far has been realtime, in-game footage. just fyi

"but it seems that Sony fanboys are much more flagrant in verbalizing their opinions. I could be wrong..." have you READ some of the stuff that landofsand dude says about Sony? or how about the fact that this article (about a Sony fanboy caving in an buying a 360) received 11 cool votes and only 1 lame, whereas the completely opposite article (360 guy praising the PS3) received 5 cool and 4 lame? fanboyism is fanboyism; its stupid and ridiculous. i used to think that Sony fanboy...

your COMMENTS are completely opinionative, and as such are doomed to be incorrect. why? because the opinionative-ness of your comments is based exclusively on your preferentially fanboyish opine. only when you have absolved youself from this way of thinking will your COMMENTS merrit any validation. PS3's cost, blu-ray's unpopularity, its lack of quality launch titles (looking better than the 360 did 9 months ago), sony's attitude to(wards) gamers, PS3's technical problems (this coming fro...

okay, the reporter gets mad because Phil isn't answering the questions the way HE wants him to answer them, abruptly turns the recorder off (true professionalism there) and says, "thats it. thanks." to which Phil responded "well, those were positive questions" in a way that JOYSTIQ says was 'vaguely' sarcastic: and Phil was being arrogant? doesn't Phil have the right to be perturbed by the unwarrented and abrupt ending of the interview at the very least?

this ...

there was nothing arrogant about Phil's last answer. he just wasn't answering the question the way the journalist wanted him to. thats when the journalist got mad and stopped recording. that, to me, shows a certain degree of unprofessionalism. he should've kept the interview going on, and kept it focused on games and the PS3...ya know, the things gamers SHOULD be most interested in, not PR.

who says they don't?

good. with such a lauded publisher/developer now backing it, hopefully Driv3r will become a formidable competitor to GTA. god knows that with all the scandals surrounding Rockstar/Take-Two that we need another IP on the block.

Oblivion meets LotR? count me in. your hero/heroine must have to achieve some pretty lofty goals (aka hard quests) to seek membership with such an exalted lot as the White Council. maybe they'll have specific nations as an option for race class, such as Rohirim or Gondorian for humans, Rivendal or Lothlorein for elven, etc. glad to see EA making use of the novels as a source moreso than just the movies.

glad you agree. most hardcore 360/fps fans HATE rpg's, or more specifically they hate Japanese-style rpg's; or even more specifically they hate PS2 rpg's. as a fan of Prey i'd just assumed that you liked fps' exclusively, and thus hated Japanese-style PS2 rpgs'. sorry for assuming incorrectly about you. but yes, Rogue Galaxy looks great. it, God of War 2 and FFXII are amongst my most awaited games, right along with the likes of MGS4, Fable 2, Assassins Creed, Splinter Cell Double Agent, ...

the formula i use to play games typically works. in the case of Prey it didn't. i know (or at least hope) you aren't trying to be mean; but i really don't see what the big deal is if i didn't enjoy the game the same as you did. i give plenty of games and systems plenty of chances: i just follow the phylisophy that if a game isn't good the first 1/2 hour, then it probabaly ain't gonna get any better as you progress. i played 10 minutes of the demo and wasn't impressed. since i don't compl...

i said i BOUGHT it. not sure about you, but i know that i can usually tell how i'm gonna like a game minutes into playing it. hence, minutes into playing Prey i came away with pretty much the same impression as gamespot.com. therefore i made a return trip to Gamestop. but from what i've been reading of its reviews (ign.com included), i probably could've beat it in aprox. 3 hours

oh, so now we have "truth police" roaming the site? where in that statement did you read me saying that i wasn't getting the game? i would photo-copy my receipt and post it, but i'm not willing to go through such extremes, as i'm not in the business of proving myself to ANYONE. if you have formulated your own opinion about the game, whether or not i've actually purchased it (which i DID; $64.82 after tax: bought it at aprox. 6 p.m central and traded it in at the same Gamestop min...
