unless Sony's planning on having the PS3 last for 10 years, its pointless to include Blu-ray with the PS3 if it will be replaced by E-distribution with the PS4. the more and more i read about Sony, the more and more i come to the conclusion that Blu-ray may in fact be the death hammer, nail and coffin of Playstation. and its really sad, because Playstations' have been wonderful systems.

thats the point. there IS no market for Japanese rpgs on the 360 in America. how many Japanese rpgs do the XBox or the 360 have, especially compared to the PS2 where they sell? until Enchanted Arms it had none, because developers knew that they wouldn't sell over yere...because XBox gamers aren't interested in them, hence there's no market for them. you can tell by the feedback forums on this site that most XBox gamers don't like Japanese rpgs. developers know the type of gamers XBox own...

as an owner of a 360 myself, it's only in my interest to see the 360 not actually come out on top, but at least succeed everywhere. and as much as i hate to be a controversialist i just don't see that happening in Japan. i'm more of a diverse gamer: yeah, fps and racers are good, but a console needs to offer a bit more to sustain my interest. no offense to my fellow Americans, but i really don't see that happening with the 360 if it doesn't succeed in Japan. simply because American gamers...

about the only things of Japanese culture that (young) Americans flock to are anime and drift-racing (both of which are niche markets). Americans never were really interested in Japanese-style games (such as rpg's etc) until Final Fantasy VII, which (sadly) seems to be the ONLY Japanese-style rpg that sells in America. Japan's interest in Hop-Hop considerably dwarfs American's interest rpg's, anime and drift-racing (the latter which doesn't in any way put a dent in Nascar and Indy).

...i just hope the series doesn't become over saturated for its fans. it took the Gran Turismo series (since like 1997) almost 10 years to reach 4 games. if you count MSR (Metropolis Street Racer) for the Dreamcast, then it's taken PGR aprox. 5 years, almost half that time to reach 4 games.

...this bit right here worries me:

"Members who post comments of low quality will risk having their comment limit reduced, while members who receive positive feedback from other members and makes useful and interesting comments will be granted more speech bubbles."

whats stopping a fan of a particular system that i'm speaking against from labeling my comment as negative, even though i may be offering something constructive? like, i can say that "S...

hopefully he's been humbled. if so then good. maybe he'll realized how precious the PS3 really is to both Sony and gaming, and ditch blu-ray to make the price more affordable. if he hasn't been humbled then he needs to be ousted, since so far he's been Playstations #1 enemy.

i'm off to bed after this. hopefully by the time i wake up tomorrow something a bit more "worth waiting for" will have been announced. peace, and don't slam each other too much fellow gamers.

i'm ASSUMING this is the news everyone was supposed to be waiting for, though i don't see much about it thats earth-shattering like Joystiq seemed to have promised.

it could very well be PS3 related:

actually to me they're both about the same. true, Vista isn't as integral to gaming as PS3 is; but both are nevertheless products of consumer interest. both formats (Vista and PS3) were made to replace already proven and existing formats (XP and PS2). the only difference is that Microsoft has cornered its market, whereas Sony has not. people feel complacent with complaining about the PS3 simply because they have alternative avenues they could pursue (such as the 360 or the Wii...or even t...

well, i had Oblivion, but i sold it. i tried my best to stick with it, but deep down inside i'm just a turn-based FF/DQ/Suikoden man. GRAW has been GREAT, but other than it i've only played old XBox games on my 360 (Fable, Ninja Gaiden, Chaos Theory). i won't necessarily say that i'm regretting getting a 360, as i'm DEFINATELY looking forward to GOW, then there's Fable 2 and Halo 3 to look forward to in spring of 07 (thats if Microsoft doesn't push either back...ain't holding my breath). ...

well, in the interview EA said that it was a bit of both: that they had more time to improve the visuals on the PS3, and that the PS3 was capable of things unique unto itself. if you ask me i just think this was a copout to saying that one system's better than the other (which would favor Sony), or that they're both the same (which would favor Microsoft). other than this no one really has any idea why the PS3 version looks better: but there you have it. i don't think it should be a matter ...

i don't even like WWII shooters, and like you didn't get COD 2 for my 360 (GRAW's been quenching my military-shooting thurst since i got my 360). but RFOM has two BIG things going for it: a) it is a game set in WWII time, but is NOT a WWII shooter, and b) it has Insomniac

well the 360 version was already gorgeous in its own right (definately better looking that the previously gorgeous PS3 E3 05 demo). that EA was able to improve on it in a noticable way on the PS3 now should say SOMETHING.

well, this:

definately looks better than this:

http://media.xbox360.ign.co...

besides, when it's all said and done RFOM will own COD 3 on both the PS3 and the 360

it'll be DMC4 related; probably Capcom revealing actual gameplay. it's already been said that Capcom would make a DMC4 announcement on or around Sept. 7th. other than that my guess is something about the Wii.

i'm not sure where FFXIII going to 360 came from, especially considering the 360's dismal sales in Japan.

you know, you could've saved youself the effort. just about everyone around these parts knows about PS3's European delay. just go to the main article on the site, and add to the 400+ comments about it.

if Sony hasn't learned their lesson after this then they are TRULY doomed. since the announcement of the PS3's price at E3 06, all's been naught but bad news for Sony (as a whole, it sometimes seems). and its all, ALL, over Blu-ray. w/o Blu-ray the PS3 would probably still launch in Nov. in all territories, with the system allocation previously promised by Sony, and at a price competitive with its competitors, and more importantly, pleasing over 90% of PS3's now dubious supporters. part of me...
