It's BS. MS is simply damage controlling in part due to the handful of studios they had killed off earlier this year, along with their new ips and projects in development. Such as Fable Legends from Lionhead and Knoxville from Press Play.
I also find it ironic how Phil Spencer and company keep touting that the XB1 has the best lineup of exclusives. When in actuality, their lineup this Gen has probably been their weakest compared to their previous gens.
Amen. The guys a clown but constantly manages to get pass after pass from the gaming community. Yet, the same people were ready to rip Don Mattrick a new one for every misstep that MS took under his watch.
@MichaelLito79
Phil Spencer is garbage. Do people so quickly forget how the Lionhead, Twisted Pixel, Press Play, etc. situations went South under his watch (just a few months back). All gone, as well as the new Ips they were developing for MS. Stop letting Phil's fake smile blind your judgment of performance.
Spencer is two-faced and speaks out both sides of his mouth. One minute he's going on about how he despises fanboys and the console wars. The next, he's ta...
@eldyraen
By that logic, all Ratchet and Clank titles are 3rd party. ReCore is 1st party. 1st party published makes it a 1st party title by default. SFV is a 3rd party title. Besides, MS just didn't publish only the game. They fully funded its development and wrote the story (Joseph Staten is a MS employee).
Complain about Microsoft doing timed exclusivity throughout the 7th Gen (i.e. GTAIV and COD) but completely co-sign the notion of Sony doing the exact same thing in the 8th Gen.
At the end of the day, it's all just business. However, there's no deny the blatant double standard in the situation.
Morgana Yu it is then.
You can't be serious. LO is Microsoft's ip, not Sakaguchi's. The game originally started development at MS' Japanese in-house studio, (along with Blue Dragon and Infinite Undisocovery) shortly after Phantom Dust was complete. Then development switched over to third party (Feelplus for LO and Artoon for BD) when MS decided they were shutting their studio down, rather canning the projects they had in early development completely.
Mistwalker/Sakaguchi was pretty much hi...
Sega's far from in touch with their fan base and community. They didn't seem all that embracing back when they issued DMCA on the Streets of Rage remake. Not to mention them pulling Shining Force III videos from Youtube and having user accounts banned. As well as ignoring fan requests on brining both franchises back from the dead.
Just like how Joe Danger (another Hello Games title) started off as a console exclusive published by Sony, yet later ended up making it's way onto several other platforms? Wouldn't put it past Hello Games to do the same thing with NMS.
The real question isn't whether or not NMS releasing for XB1, but rather will Hello Games troll early adopters (in this instance PS4/PC users) by claiming that they were beta testers for later versions and ports of the game. As Hello Games has done numerous time in the past with their previous games.
So true unfortunately. Money talks and BS walks.
Capcom is a perfect example. Fans constantly complaining about how they're sick of Crapcom, how they're fed up with C$shcom half-assing and churning out their products to make a quick buck. Yet, those same people will be the first to jump for joy at Capcom announcing another Remaster or Super Ultra Edition (and get angry when similar companies follow suit).
Get with the program, people. Vote with your wallets, not your...
At only $39.99, it's a steal.
It's pretty obvious that MS is delaying games like Crackdown 3 and Scalebound in order to implement Windows 10 features. Don't be surprised if Gears 4 gets delayed by several months as well.
Then you shouldn't have had your execs lie that you were going to be announcing a boatload of new IPs and XB1 exclusives for the event, only to showcase gameplay footage from games announced two years ago, along with those games coming to Windows 10.
Even the Phantom Dust Remaster announcement seemed random and last minute damage control in response to Sony's overwhelming positive reaction to their E3 conference.
Well, duh. Inafune's "Better than nothing" remark obviously wasn't in regards to MN9 even being released but
rather, the low critic scores and reviews. ;)
More like he used the 4 million towards pitching the MN9 animated series and Red Ash prototype.
Blame Ubisoft, they were the pretty much the first major gaming publisher to announce that they were ditching paper manuals.
Meh. The franchises are polar opposites in terms of gameplay (outside of special finishers) and violence.
I'd much prefer to see a Killer Instinct x Darkstalkers crossover if anything:
Sabrewolf vs Jon Talbain
Kan-Ra vs Anakaris
Hisako vs Hsien-Ko
Cinder vs Pyron
Spinal vs Bishamon
Sadira vs Morrigan
Orchid vs Felicia
Anyone?
At this point, the Atari Jaguar has more exclusives than XB1. Which is sad, when you factor in how MS profoundly initially touted games such as QB, Scalebound, Gears 4, Forza, Fable Legends, Halo, etc as reasons for needing to go out and buy an XB1.
Quite frankly put, MS is detached from their audience. They fail to grasp what made the 360 such a hit amongst consumers and I fear this entire forced Windows 10 integration push will result in their downfall (Gears Remastered a...
You couldn't have said it any better. Unfortunately your comment won't go over too well with the many people because Spencer's looked up to as an apostle (in the gaming community) who can do no wrong.
Edit:
2017, Xbox off to a rocky start.
I predict an announcement of Phil stepping down as head of the Xbox division pretty soon.
