Fair enough.
This video from the great early 90's era PC game explains it all.
They just told everybody how they come up with their figures. If they are telling us all the truth, there should be no more problem. Either use them as a means to understand what is going on in the industry, sales-wise, or not. The end.
They are a free service that does the best they can. While I don't inherently trust anybody or thing, I have no reason to think they are not doing what they claim.
If you want actual final numbers, wait until the...
Yes, please.
Baldur's Gate 2 was responsible for many hours of wasted time... having crazy amounts of kick-ass fun!
In your face homework.
Best hypothetical potentially unreal-real situation I've ever read or heard of and I even watch mainstream news television programs, because I want to be well informed. Ha, ha, ha... reality is killing me.

It will be a hard case to make, I mean Steam gives PC gamers most of what they want. True, some don't like certain aspects of the service, but overall, they have done some incredibly positive things for the industry.
What have retailers done for PC games? Oh, right, they have marginalized them.

Is it just me, or does Ellen look batshit insane in this picture?
People... people never change.
Again, a great comment and spot on.
This is the generation of Multi-player maddness, so it will be hard for the majority of youngish gamers to understand. With all its bugs, I would take this game over so, so many others, any day of the week.
I've pitched so many tents for Deus Ex, I could be an Eagle Scout.
