I've not had any problem with my Elite except it started making a Wurrrrhhhh sound a couple months ago now...but no failures or disc issues. I purchased & recommend an extended warranty so am not too concerned.

Are they similar games? I know Heavy Rain's premise of an investigator looking for a murderer but Alan Wake is supposed to be an action game.
Not sure if I'm interested in both, or just one...at this point I've only seem a demo for Heavy Rain that was seemed really more related to the technology behind it.

I've not seen anything but promo comps & those really reveal nothing but it's a guy with a flashlight.
I'd like to find some interest in this game, but need to know something interesting about it.

I don't know about you but I'd be knocking on their door tomorrow at 8am with these sales.
The Wii might have outsold the PS3 & 360 hardware combined, but from these numbers...it looks like that's not where the money really is.
You can have the best both consoles have to offer...even the Wii if that's your taste!
It's hard not to recommend the core Arcade unit to someone with less to spend who still wants a compelling gaming system. Out of my friends looking, I think they ended up split almost evenly between the PS3 & 360, but it really depends on what you want.
If Movies are less important than games...$199 is hard to beat.

Last year was an exception for Sony because of the boost from the Warner & Toshiba announcement.
This year, there's definitely nothing till Halo & Killzone at the end of February.
I guess we'll be getting "Massive preorders reported for ____" by the end of January and will know by March how these two anticipated titles affect immediate sales!
