What I see Sony & Microsoft doing now is baking & serving their own slice of I'mnotlast-Pie.

I do not care for the light fluffy gameplay of the Wii myself...I consider it the paper napkins of a gaming picnic. Disposable.

We're not talking about that here, we're talking about cold hard numbers that DO indicate as much as 'WE' don't like it, there are millions of people who do.

When you and your competitors totals COMBINED make up maybe 2/3 of your...

I pretty much summed that up something like that in another message:
http://www.n4g.com/Redirect...

Considering sales figure estimates always have margins of error like +/- 3% It looks to me like this year, no matter how you spin whatever your spinning, except for Nintendo, it's a DRAW.

If a real gamer only owns one console...what do they care anyway?

In this case both Sony & Microsoft made some pretty excellent strategic moves! The most effective would be Blu-Ray winning in the first quarter of 2008 - Countered by Microsoft's $199 Core Arcade unit at the last quarter of the year.

I own them both. I Play them both. I Like them both.

To me, a person right in the middle...it seems like a draw & for all the stats and numbers everyone's thrown all over the place, I've yet to see anything that's changed that. I...

I purchased another one and had recommended the deal to friends interested in the PS3 along with the 60/120gig 360 (PLUS warranty) to friends looking for that. (PS3 already came with double the warranty standard with the deal)

I bet they sold and shipped a TON of these PS3's at $150 off on both the 80 & 160 gig bundles. Just wondering how those factored in there because this was a promotion for December.

You could technically get the deal and purchase through ear...

Why do you think they are going under anymore than Microsofts?

Please, share your financial figures...and I don't mean the conveniently selectable ones like here where you cut out a full 1.02 million unit sales profit segment.

You know, the real ones that the unincarcerated read ;)
Nothing I've seen or read, including these, shows either of them isn't aiming right at their targets.

The truth is, both Microsoft & Sony can gloat about their piece...

and Sony spent that time & money with Guerilla Games to make a fantastic game, but also incorporate this tech into the Edge tools suite. Expect a significant update and loads of technical details on how this will benefit EVERY developer at GDC.

(Pssst...Sony...Free Home development tools wouldn't hurt either.)

February 19, but at least there is a public demo.

I don't agree with GameStops practices so really didn't plan on buying Killzone there just to get the demo.

Amazon, on the other hand will get my cold hard ca...credit card.
(Gets card from freezer with no explanation of why it's there whatsoever...types Amazon.com...ever so gently...ever so gently...)

Hmmm....I still have a $5 pre-order for something at GameStop. I wonder if I just switched that o...

All early adopters could just pick up two Dualshock3's for $30 each at RadioShack like I did ., . . So that's settled...What's Microsoft's solution?

I'd like to know because although I have an HDMI port, I have several friends who don't, and even the $85-$150 Component to HDMI converters won't solve this problem.

With the new motherboards readied specifically to replace warranty returns, that doesn't even guarantee you're getting a model with HDMI because it's design...

I'd figured it was something like that...a .ISO-like disc image but I thought the DVD-Drives actual firmware had something to do with disk decryption/authentication. Emulation or redirection of that firmware might be in there somewhere too.

At first, after reading some of the times compiled in a list of installed games I wasn't going to bother. (with an average 5-second loading increase I guessed you'd need to play a game 120 times before getting back the 10 minutes you spent on ...

If you have the space and are regularly playing a game, installing to cut out DVD-Drive noise is great.

The couple seconds to nothing gained in loading though was a real disappointment to me. I don't see how loading from a 4200 or 5400 RPM Hard Drive can be the same speed or give you such a slight improvement it doesn't matter.

Maybe something to do with the disc protection, or due to streaming requirements it must throttle the actual speed to the DVD-Drive's data tr...

Seriously...If it was usable in Home I could see some function for it:

- Designing & selling custom clothing goods
- Unique personal clothing
- Clothes for your group or club
- Special event clothing / Prizes
(and of course, Rated M+ Slutwear...You can never have enough Slutwear)

At best, this looks like it's the internal dev-tool for home clothes blandly polished with 0-grit sandpaper.

Kind of an odd way to meet though...being accused of meeting myself because I'm not myself but actually you.

Still, console worship is a stressful thing, leading to all sorts of unfortunate issues :

If told to go away, or even blocked a Cult of the Console member can be in such desperate need of attention they never got as a child (LAST WEEK) that they will actually track you down to accuse you of their own delusions!

I wonder how the PS3, 360 & Wii will look in 20-30 years

They each represent a unique type of console innovation today, but in 25 years will they look as primitive but unique as the Vectrex & Coleco did then?

I'd like to think it's as great a time to be a gamer now as it was then.

There are PS2 emulators already available for Windows & Linux system with lower specs than the PS3's or 360's hardware.

This emulator, PCSX-II comes to mind...it's over 70% compatible, and thats with no help from Sony...reverse engineered:

Another thing to consider is Sony's posted and filled a job for a "Hardware emulation engineer" for the PS2 & PS3 ...

There are a variety of icon-based visual code generators for a wide variety of uses and this seems no different...the tech has existed long before either console:

MVPL, AppWare, SCALA, OSVP, Demicron's WireFusion...
I've even run across much older versions, like AmigaVision*

This technology is not new, and also not new to games, just new to the current generation of consoles...No one copied from anyone.

I've seen a couple very impressive laser projectors, including Mitsubishi's CES demonstration.

These are supposed to be able to fit in a very tiny space with virtually no heat once perfected. (led laser technology)

I don't know if this is using lasers, but this looks like a good first step...cheaper than I expected to see it introduced as well.

Both good starts for a relatively new field of Pocket Projection.
