Agreed. Gt7 has been pretty awesome too so it will be interesting to compare.
Stadia is still around?
its not the devs. its the power discrepencies. at some point you have to shift your production to the new hardware and theres a crossover period where supporting older hardware is still expected. this is all part of that argument that cross-gen games hold next gen systems back. to look good on last gen means you aren't taking advantage of the new hardware power, and if you wanna get the most out of the new hardware then the old hardware has to compromise considerably. this is my biggest i...
brutal. imagine what the Switch version would look like with it being practically a generation of power behind the ps4.
i tried the demo of this game. its ok. unremarkable. doesn't seem bad, but also doesn't seem amazing. the fact that it launched in a similar window as the fantastic, high quality GT7 tho doesn't really seem to help its cause - even if it is an arcade racer... and as an arcade racer tho, it still also has to compete with the likes of the still relatively new forza horizon 5 which is also a super high quality racer thats bringing a lot more to the table.
i dig it personally. i think its the best gran turismo in years. I do find the old school menus, the talking heads that have typed out dialog like an old nes game and the odd navigation system kinda laughable and horribly dated. A lof of the music is weird too - are we all mansion dwelling 65 year olds sipping Scotch?
BUT
The actual racing, car selection, car tuning, upgrades and more are all top notch. at the end of the day, the racing should be the mos...
Looks pretty cool
@cs7 - i own a ps5 and strongly disagree. its elegant sure, but it literally offers a fraction of what the xbox ui can do. the aesthetics are all nonfunctioning superficial fluff. literally. you can't group, customize, order, pin or even change the background on ps5. you can do ALL of that on xbox and more. the xbox even has more tools to calibrate your display and audio etc. I'd happily trade a nice particle effect after booting up for folders, organization and ordering capabilites. ...
everything in the headline is true. its also one of the only racing games tho aside from Dirt5.... but Dirt5 is also a lot more arcade than sim so they aren't really the same anyway. and im not referring to back compat ps4 games.
sorry. this looks dumb AF imo. and before anybody gets all hater on me, its worth mentioning that this is not actually a playstation exclusive. it will also be on xbox and pc according to Polygon.
i have had a problem where on certain interactions, Aloy gets stuck/frozen, but her legs continue to move really fast if you push the stick. at first it was hilarious cuz it looked like she was doing a River Dance performance, but now that its happened a few times its getting annoying. I've also had some draw in/pop in issues with things not drawing in even as you're standing on/over them. even things like shallow water etc. hopefully that stuff will be addressed.
Pin to quick resume is brilliant. I assume those 2 games are locked to quick resume and can't be knocked out by loading a bunch of other games that would otherwise replace/knock those slots out otherwise when the slots are all filled up.
interface is fine. fully customizable, easy to use. i own a ps5 and a series x, and while the particle effects and pretty backgrounds are nice on the ps5, the interface is rigid and basic comparatively. It also doesn't have the best usability and was initially even confusing to me. all the "next gen stuff" is largely superficial fluff and the core menu experience is near identical to the ps4 with actually less options.
at least on xbox you can customize your h...
Prices are the same on Xbox but currently half off if anybody is interested. I just picked up the full game for $20 and preloaded
can we get gameplay from someone who can actually handle a racing sim?
AC has some of the most realistic physics on the market. would be great to actually see that in action, instead of this.
dope. its my current ps5 fav and i played it extensively throughout the weekend. fantastic return to to form, imo - even w/ all its hilarious old school quirkiness left in tact.
better to take the time and make it right. said the same thing about halo too. id rather avoid cyberpunk scenarios where they felt the pressure to get the game launched, but then had to spend a year and all kinds of patches, tweaking it to make it as intended. halo infinite had a huge push on launch and was a better game for it. The added benefit to all this is reducing crunch for the developers too.
Lol just stop. They don’t. If anything they are the same. I have both games and have played both extensively at this point. The more important thing this that people need to stop getting so defensive. This whole tit for tat shit is so childish and irrelevant. Gran turismo 7 is a great game. Horizon 5 is a great game. They both have things that are funny and we should be able to laugh at them without getting upset. They are games. They aren’t even direct competitors with each other.
I’ve spotted that dude with his hands up. He’s in some of the stands when it’s doing it’s little in between cuts. I think he’s just a cutout cuz he doesn’t even move. Hilarious.
Great game tho. Loving it so far - even it’s old school eccentric charms that call back to the old days.
I played the sh** out of Forza 7. Currently playing gt7 and loving it. Best gran turismo in years and a return to form. That being said, and this is going to be highly controversial; even tho it’s not necessarily the same type of racing game, Forza horizon 5 looks better visually than both of these games. I own all of them and am playing on ps5/series x. GT7 on the ps5 is gorgeous and a showcase game for sure but Forza horizon 5 on the series x is incredible visually. Has better rain effects ...
