Ummm… just gonna call a spade a spade here and yes I am one of those ppl that bought and own a psvr2. There are over 30 million ps5 users presently. That’s ~ 2% of the install base who bought in on psvr2…. In a launch window when sales are supposed to be the max hottest. So while it may have been more successful than thought, and might have sold more than the original psvr, I’m not sure that is the same as being hugely successful. If God of War had only been picked up by 2% of ps4 users, you...
So some people don’t like the new direction, the graphics are mediocre, performance is mediocre, resolution is stuck in the year 2008 and now the boss fights are lacking…. Let’s give it….. 10 out of 10.
the answer is easy. Sony paid.
I got my psvr2 shortly after launch. This is my honest take.
The hardware is pretty solid. It’s not bringing anything to the table that isn’t already available on the pc side, with even higher fidelity options available, but it’s exponentially better than the original psvr in pretty much every single way.
Has cool features. The eye tracking is awesome and works really well. Again it’s not new but it’s cool. The controllers are more like standard vr cont...
I don't neccessarily love the subscription model (even tho it's pretty cheap) but the game itself is a blast.
There’s no doubt that the game was rushed to release and suffers because of it, but I think the hostility is fueled more by resentment of Xbox by fanboys. You can mark this comment inappropriate but it doesn’t make it any less true. Ppl are using redfall to say gamepass is terrible and this is the quality you get on Gamepass and now starfield will be garbage cuz of gamepass (which btw most MS first party games as late have actually scored very well). It’s all hyperbole and the console war stu...
who keeps pinning these stupid Nintendo stories?
and sorry.... I think graphics DO matter. the feeling I get of playing a high quality AAA game on my ps5 or Series X is vastly more experiential and immersive than playing something that feels 15 years old. Sure gameplay has to be good and is the soul of the game, but in the year 2023, with the computing power and tech that we have, why would you NOT want to make a game as beautiful as you can. Just like how ppl can spend mi...
Yeah it’s Nintendo. Performance doesn’t matter. Can have shit graphics, shit performance, shit resolution and still scores a 10. It’s obvious ppl wanted to see what it COULD look like on real hardware. If this was Xbox, the performance would be the only thing ppl cared about and they’d shred it.
Other ppl have to make Nintendos games look more current for them.
"It burns when I pee"
why is this seemingly minor whine story pinned? this this the important news of the day?
This is exactly the point I was trying to make. Yes Sony usually has super high quality single player exclusives. That’s not bad. But. They are all starting to feel the same. I’m not saying they are the same but def starting to notice lots of similarities and a general lack of innovation. Sure the graphics are pretty and the gameplay is nice but it’s all been done. I don’t feel any new innovative games or more creative ways to use all that power.
are ppl honestly this stupid and oblivious?
the point he was making was at this point in the console race, everyone for the most part has picked a team. that's obvious with all the console war bs that happens and all the memes that are spawned from it etc. He was saying that releasing Starfield to 11/10 review scores (obviously making a scenario where the game scores impossibly well) its not going to make a playstation gamer or a Nintendo gamer just give up on their con...
This article misses the point. What Spencer meant was most people have already picked a side and invested in that side so they aren’t likely to switch because of a few games now matter how good they are. Let’s be real. Xbox users aren’t going to give up their Xboxes that they chose, defend and are attached to just because the new God of War got great reviews and just as well PlayStation users aren’t going to rush out and buy Xboxes because starfield hypothetically gets great reviews.
uhhh,,, all the Bethesda stuff is on there, flight simulator, Forza horizon 5, gears 5, ghostwire Tokyo and more are all ms games on gamepass and all pretty well scoring games.
Devs aren’t magicians and this article is stupid. Game engines and tech have advanced and require more processing power. The switch hardware is literally as powerful as a console from 3 generations ago. That’s like taking your base model toyota to the mechanic and telling them if it isn’t as fast as a Ferrari when it’s done it’s on them.
Let it die. Just push gamepass
Gotta do something with all that stock. I regret buying mine now.
Comfort is the least of my problems with psvr2. I don’t have a problem with how it fits. My problem is the launch lineup is a few decent options amongst a pile of recycled vr mediocrity that weve been playing for years. I know there are games in development, but honestly this thing should have pushed launch back. I barely use mine now, save for the occassional gt7 race, but even then I have to convince myself to get the headset out and set it up vs just poppin in a few quick races.

I love how even when Sony gets criticized, it’s with the most padded gloves available…. It’s almost like the author is sorry for actually having an objective opinion. And I’m going to go ahead and say it; for as much sh*t as those “enthusiastic gamers” (lmfao) have been talking lately about how everyone was gonna go sell their Xboxes after this presentation, this showcase was entirely underwhelming. The best and most exciting things shown are multiplatform 3rd party games. That’s fine for me ...
