maybe they should have thought about releasing more broadly..... FF16 wasn't exactly flying off the shelves as a ps5 only title

uhhh its a brand new version of the Creation engine. DF did a whole dive on it and were actually impressed with it. look it up.

but we've pretty much already seen it with the game its iterating on.... it literally looks practically identical...save for the story is obv in a different place

But have you played it….

You should try actually playing games before forming opinions by watching others play. I’ve been playing it for 5 days straight and having a lot of fun. Maybe it’s not for you but watching videos isn’t experiencing the game.

This is a troll review comparatively to practically every other review. Even ign giving it a seven said it was irresistible after a slow beginning.

Of course he does… he sells discs in a time when fewer ppl want to buy discs. Consider that discless consoles exist bc market research shows many ppl will pay less to give up something like a disc drive. I mean most computers don’t even have disc drives these days. They are wasteful and unnecessary at this point. And if you actually think a disc drive is protecting you from some corporate bogeyman, I’ve got a bridge to sell you.

this feels like a "too many ppl are talking about starfield and not enough about Sony" article.

NGL, my psvr2 has sat untouched for months now. I actively check for new games that look interesting but most are just ports of stuff we've already seen before, or kinda silly vr games... there's not a ton of big AAA action to take advantage of what is actually really cool hardware.

It also bums me out that most of the games available for psvr2 aren't stellar visually. most have some degree of potato graphics going on or they are highly stylized in what I assum...

Starfield isn't as flexible when it comes to just flying from planet to planet and checking out the planets, its not even as seamless... but as a game, Starfield is better in just about every other way, and the exploring in Starfield isn't really the same. in no mans sky that is the point of the game, in Starfield, you still have a AAA rpg with proper storylines, set pieces, battles and an arc. The worlds in starfield are exponentially more gorgeous and lifelike/

Lol elite dangerous and eve are hardly RPGs. None of these games except star citizen even capture the quality of a good space rpg.

Seriously. I’m really digging it. I love space and science and RPGs tend to favor either magic or medieval times, or fantasy or superheroes. It’s a bit refreshing, and the amount of stuff to do is insane.

Diggin it so far. I get the impression it’s a slow burn so I’m treating it like a slow burn. A bit different than I expected.

Not quite as No Mans Sky as I thought it would be, but that’s not at all bad thing. It’s just different. Traveling to worlds and the worlds themselves aren’t like on No Mans Sky - they’re more like maps you travel to… extensions of the main map… or rather the main map is spread across planets.

The amount of detail is almost overw...

I’d imagine someone who spends 200 on a controller plays a lot of games… enough to seek out a 200 controller. This is kinda like saying people who buy cars spend more time driving cars.

Nobody wants to accept that game production costs have gone up while game prices have remained relatively flat or gotten cheaper over the decades (when adjusted for inflation). In the 80s and early 90s, some games cost the equivalent of $100+ in todays money.

Despite the imagery of millionaire ceos from Activision or Riot etc, the margins on video games are actually pretty thin and there’s a big risk now due to the cost. That’s why we see more sequels and reboots than new I...

Hardest eye roll here. You guys are hardly martyrs and spare me the theater. It’s no secret that the game is locked down. It’s also no secret the UK hasn’t been friendly to MS… including publications. It’s a free world, and I hardly think your readers are going to just throw their reputations of you in the toilet bc of a situation that was out of your control. You’re not out there saving lives. This is so cringe.

A) they are locked down on all copies - even punishing ppl highlighting positive aspects by revoking their early access

B) they aren’t withholding review copies from Europe; they are withholding copies to eurogamer, psr and maybe a handful of others. Considering they gave a copy to DF who is hosted by Eurogamer and said explicitly that no other part of Eurogamer gets a copy says more that there is a violation of some sort or that there are qualifications that aren’t met mo...
