Everything after the original Final Fantasy doesn't make sense! They're popular but the titles of the sequels are bizarre when you think about it
A bit niche, but Body Harvest's soundtrack way back on the N64 was wonderfully atmospheric and really elevated the game.
Can understand why most of these court controversy in fairness. I found No Russian unpleasant and actually wholly unsatisfying in particular. No point being controversial just for controversy's sake.
These points are so true! Why do we always feel impelled to throw our character off the highest cliff? I've died so, so many times in RPG games that way - usually more than at the hands of enemies :)
In general, yes. Or at least usually the choice is there to change the difficulty level as you say.
In my opinion a lot of Bullfrog's classics like Theme Park World, Dungeon Keeper and,in particular, the brilliant Theme Hospital are still great fun today.
Massive kudos for including Timesplitters and Freedom Fighters - fantastic games both, particularly the majestic Timesplitters 2! Makes me sad we will almost certainly never see a new Timesplitters.
Most seem a bit disappointingly generic to me, but I guess that's mainly because I know Minecraft for too well!
Sadly I think we'll see a decline in console and PC games in general in the future due to the mobile plague. As for single-player games, there will always be a place for them for those of us who love to go on an adventure by ourselves.
My belief is that certain genres will continue to experience a decline, however, such as FPS, driving and loot-based games.
Looks intriguing but I daresay boredom looks like a real risk...
Nice to see MediEvil in there - a great, highly-underrated gem!
Guess they're not really DLC then but just unlockable characters? At any rate refreshing to see!
It's sad that online is killing local multiplayer. I struggle to find recent games that I can play with my mates on the sofa. Keep coming back to the N64 and PS2!
Honestly, that's the most flawed argument I've heard in ages. I own a Wii U, and love some of its first party titles, but to deny that it has been a commercial failure is bonkers.
I dearly hope Nintendo can get back to a position of strength in the console market (why would anybody in their right mind hope otherwise?) but it will be largely dependent on the success of the NX.
Why would they keep pursuing an avenue if it kept consistently failing? That wouldn't make sound business sense. Agree with the 3DS, which is why I think they'll focus on handhelds IF the NX isn't a success. But fingers crossed it will be!
"Let’s be clear, this is not a battle for Nintendo’s survival. This is because as long as Nintendo makes stellar first party software, it will always be around and will never go anywhere."
Completely agree. With the commercial failure of the Wii U, the NX has the potential to mark Nintendo's last foray into the console hardware market, if not the handheld market. Some sensible marketing this time around would go a long way!
Agreed. I have no problem thanking devs when they produce excellent, fully-working games. It may be publisher pressure, but still, it's hard to offer thanks if a game's broken and we've just dished out our hard-earned cash for it. That said, Nintendo don't produce broken games, and that's certainly worth our gratitude.
I'm sure the mechanics are there and the detail is incredible, but graphically it just looks so...stodgy.
I haven't actually bought an Android-based smart watch, but that Goldeneye face makes me want one desperately! The attention to detail is fantastic, particularly the analogue watch hands in the background :)
That's terrible and brilliant in equal measure! The community shall surely forgive you :)
