Yes! Would have to agree with Stephen Merchant in Portal 2 - he was fantastic against monstrous GLaDoS
Had no idea about Elijah Wood. Wasn't hugely impressed by AW's campaign but Kevin Spacey on autopilot certainly helped. Great reminder that the video game industry can now pull huge A-listers for some voice work. And Nolan North for everything else.
Some huge names on here! Glad to see the late great Iwata recognised as an influential designer.
My God...that was so beautiful it tugged at my heart strings. I kept hoping you could climb the tower and look out across all of Hyrule so beautifully recreated.
The Welsh accent has the power to turn the most terrifying games into a gag-reel!
Bit of a saturated market but the poor Vita needs all the games it can get!
Seems like a good theory to me, although I hope that the player can see what's going on more than the guy who gets his head chopped off in the clip!
Alice: Madness Returns - now there was a game that had a setting that was looking quirky in the rear view mirror, but ultimately dull gameplay.
Love the minimalistic aesthetics. Hard to believe there's much depth to the gameplay, though, looking at it. But I guess looks can be deceiving!
Begin by creating the wackiest character you can possibly imagine, and then just lay the smackdown!
Will never forget the opening to the original Half Life - fully deserves to be on the list. It was masterful exposition; story-telling at its conservative best.
It has real potential to be an adventure game that blurs the boundaries between the real world and the video game world. Cautiously excited...if that makes sense??
Sean Devlin - the Irish ginger nutter who's special just kicked people into submission - was my character of choice back on Wrestlemania 2000. What a classic game! He would have taken your Liam Neeson monk to the cleaners....
Agree - it adds layers of depth and replayability that would otherwise be difficult to achieve.
Sure looks like the Naughty Dog employee has finally let slip the worst-kept secret in gaming currently! Very funny video clip.
You had me at Ghibli art-style. Looks stunning - hope the gameplay can live up to its aesthetics.
Looks like a truly charming little game. Hope to pick this up somewhere down the line!
Gorram terrifying game. Subjected myself to it once, don't want to again! Great spot though for those needing a push buying new underwear.
My personal favourite was from Resident Evil 3, when you're in the relative calm of the police station and then - BAM!! - out of nowhere Nemesis smashes through that tiny window at the bottom of the staircase.
Man I jumped so much my controller flew up in the air, Jill was butchered, and I couldn't recollect myself for hours afterwards. Classic.
Agreed, but it looks like this misses the mark completely. A tense atmosphere is all very well but shoddy gameplay just breaks immersion.
