Well we can't exactly predict new IPs, unless they'd already leaked.

@itsmebryan

PS5 is going to hold back next gen even though it will run circles around Series X?

Nintendo has always been on its own. They can put out weaker systems because their first party titles are full of nostalgia and history. Switch obviously has the advantage of it being a mobile device. The downside to their choice is a crap ton of AAA games never come to switch whatsoever. That console is skipped by many publishers.

Micros...

Wow that S memory is a shame. Much less and much slower. Series S is pathetic. Thanks Microsoft for holding back next gen.

We're supposed to be impressed that a last gen game can is running on a next-gen console at 120fps, but the resolution had to be reduced to 1080p?

Nintendo thrives on nostalgia. They could re-release all their main titles each generation for $60 and people would buy them.

You can't rape the willing.

I can comprehend that. What does that have to do with fanboys bragging about true 4K and now they're saying 4K isn't a big deal?

There's literally no such thing as a TV built for 1440p. So, if you have a 1080p TV... why upgrade? FPS you say? But you said this is for casuals? Casuals don't care about frames. If you have a 4K TV... why buy next gen that can't do 4K?

The Series S is stupid.

Ever since X1X came out, how much bragging was there that it could do "true 4K" and Pro couldn't. Now all of a sudden, 4K is not necessary. Xbot fanboys can't make up their minds.

2000d ago 25 agree5 disagreeView comment

What confirmed games come out in the next 2 years that won't work on the X1X? Microsoft said all their first party will. Third party generally stick with old gen for a couple years.

The reason why consoles are able to put out games that look just as good or better than games on $1000 plus PC systems is because when you are developing for a console... you can optimize the hell out of it because you are only dealing with one configuration. That is also why games are generally more stable than PC games.

Microsoft is now making that more complicated by having 2 configurations.

There is no "scaling" switch that simply needs to...

Series S is a terrible idea. Everyone knows it. Xbox fans just won't admit it. They're ruining the generational leap that new consoles bring.

Gamepass has existed for 3 years. You've been easily able to get an Xbox One for $200 for years. Nothing has changed. Microsoft isn't doing anything different with next-gen.

2000d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

I mean what is the argument here? What does GamePass have to do with kids? GamePass isn't filled with games for children.

A $200 Xbox and cheap GamePass have been available for over 3 years now. It hasn't helped Microsoft one single bit.

You fools think Sony is going to put all their first party titles on a service that costs $60 a year? Unlike Microsoft, Sony's titles are top of the line. Constant Game of the Year winners. They have 2 games already released this year that will win GOTY awards. That's not something you give away.

New games is the only good advantage GP has over Now. But Now is cheaper and has way more games.

@343

Exclusives are the #1 reason people choose one console over another. Don't try to downplay it. It is a fact. It is why Microsoft continues to lose. They think they're going to trick people with a cheap console. It won't work. X1 was constantly selling for $200 while PS4 remained at $300. It did not help them one bit. GP did not help them one bit.

These gimmicks will not help them without exclusives.

2001d ago 3 agree6 disagreeView comment

No cat you're the bot defending this. Leaps and bounds better? You're delusional. Cross-gen games are NEVER EVER leaps and bounds different. That are extremely similar.
We have generations of history as evidence. We already have proof in that crap show Halo Infinite they showed us. Completely held back by last gen.

That is why Sony cuts off last gen and moves on.

That is exactly the problem Microsoft is creating for themselves. ...

2001d ago 6 agree5 disagreeView comment

Why not? Microsoft said all their exclusives will be on X1 for 2 years. Microsoft is competing with themselves. No reason to upgrade to Series S.

2001d ago 16 agree16 disagreeView comment

There is no "could" about it. The system is weaker. The GPU is weaker. The RAM is weaker and there is less of it. And unlike everyone keeps claiming... THE CPU IS NOT THE SAME. It has slightly lower speeds.

It is not only resolution that will suffer no matter what Phil Spencer will tell you.

2001d ago 1 agree4 disagreeView comment

If your profession is about writing gaming articles and you don't have all the consoles (not every iteration, but at least 3 the main ones)... I don't get it.

2001d ago 6 agree0 disagreeView comment

Man Microsoft has you all fooled with that resolution claim. A weaker GPU and a lower amount of RAM will affect other things.
