I buy my physical games and resell them quite often for near the same price I paid. Sometimes I lose $10 and sometimes I can actually profit $10.
Buying physical games is cheap if you wait for sales and resell.

Miles Morales is a standalone game. No, you cannot upgrade your regular 2018 SM game to anything. It is backwards compatible on the PS5 and that is it.
