It is certainly highly deceiving.
Someone actually said there are probably millions of players who will play this game and not play the story mode? That's the biggest load of bull. I doubt there is anyone who plays this game without going through story mode.
@carcarias
So you let your kids watch whatever movies with whatever nudity (I'm not talking porn) when they were young children?
I've never known any family to allow this.
Curious do you have kids? Because there is a difference. I tried to explain it in another post.
My kids know violence is wrong. They know shows with violence isn't real. They know it isn't okay to do that stuff in real life ever. Nudity though? It isn't illegal like violence. But it does affect desires that are part of human nature and I wouldn't want my child exposed to that.
Like when I was younger, I'd try to sneak catching a boo...
They could implement if they wanted to, there's no question about that. They essentially already do the same within games requiring PS Plus online access. They block you from online that way, they can block you from online if you are banned. They could also do the same thing to things that don't require PS Plus (free to play games, etc).
They should ban the user from all online components of all games and PSN features, but allow them to play their games.
To everyone making the blanket statement, "it's in the TOS", please be aware that just because TOS says something, doesn't make it legal. A lot of TOS wouldn't hold up if challenged in court.
I'm not saying that is the case here, but TOS isn't the final say.
Only the cheaper option is a valid argument (which isn't legit until we see sales prices, because the MSRP doesn't mean anything on Xbox consoles). All the other arguments about digital only can apply to any console, you just don't buy any disc's.
KickSpin your argument doesn't make any sense because that was a mid-gen "upgrade" and there was a much cheaper option available. No one complained true. We also have no clue whether it sold well.
Don't act like this is specific to games though. Most parents won't let their kids watch movies/shows with nudity, but violence is much more likely.
Who knows how to explain it. My kids know violence is wrong. They know shows aren't real. I know they won't try to replicate in real life. Nudity though? Do I want my kid to start having those kind of desires? That is harder to control.
Well first of all, I think most games likely could have the same thing said about them.
Secondly, reddit survey? Highly scientific obviously.
I'm expecting a PS4 price drop soon. If you haven't bought a system yet, you probably don't want to pay full price. So you probably aren't going to want to wait a year for a potentially $500 system.
I don't know what exactly they are wanting out of a console? Why is this any different from PS1 to PS2 or PS2 to PS3 or PS3 to PS4?
There's never been radical changes really.
Yes, and that is an argument for the used game market and always has been. It still stands that the publisher eventually stops selling the games digitally and physically.
If you're a digital person, that is the risk you take. But don't act like you're getting screwed by the companies.
I buy mostly physical, but let's not act like there aren't advantages to digital including not having to swap disks. I've come to appreciate that more with my child starting to play games more and more and he's constantly asking me to swap a game in.
This argument never makes sense.
If you're talking about games you already purchases, it is extremely rare you lose access to download.
If you're talking about games you still want to buy, well they eventually stop selling those in stores as well. Not much different.
I mean it is just an option. How could it be wrong? A lot of people ple go all digital, this only makes sense.
Maybe read the article.
I like how they're trying to downplay the cloud aspect now.
That makes this whole article 10 times worse.
I can understand that. But you're telling me in MK, you would never play the campaign to get to the top of the tower? I really find it hard to believe.
