But the game did flop. It got terrible reviews at release. Sales have not been spectacular. Twitch streams peaked during the beta and have been terrible ever since.
Maybe the game is better now, but they blew it at the beginning and that isn't acceptable.
This article is terrible as usual. They didn't seek out new platforms for Minecraft after acquisition. Game released on PS4 on 9/5/14. Microsoft didn't announce their Mojang/Minecraft deal until 9/15. Game was already released.

Microsoft is giving out Game Pass like candy. I have Game Pass Ultimate through July 2022 through various promotions. I spent $100 for it.

PS2 sold 15 times as many consoles and the games killed the few amazing games Sreamcast offered.

Yes, putting a console exclusive on PC could do nothing other than devalue the console.
So, if you can get your Microsoft exclusives on PC... then PS4 + PC is the smart decision. Exclusives drive system sales more than anything. That is why Microsoft always ends in third. That is why Nintendo can succeed even with the least powerful system.

I don't get these stupid articles. Sony has bought studios in the past. Buying Insomniac doesn't indicate there is some increased chance for them to buy another.
No you can't unpack the complexity of MG in a trailer... but you certainly can create a trailer for those games that make you want to buy it because of more than "trust Kojima".
The more subscribers they have the bigger the licensing fees they will have to pay. For example they just paid Capcom $19 million when they have a few million subscribers. Let's say they get to 10 or 15 million. Capcom would want more than $19 million.
You only need to look at every other streaming service... Netflix/Hulu/Amazon for proof. More content = raise prices.
I understand and agree, but that goes with my argument that the price will increase. They're taking a loss right now to build it up. Eventually they will raise the price. They simply can't give away every first party game they develop for free and also many other titles from third party. The price will go up.

This is an insane deal and it is exactly why I think there is no way they will maintain Gamepass for such a low price. It can't be profitable.

Then you buy this $1 Ultimate Gamepass deal and it will add up X + Y and convert those to Ultimate Gamepass.
So you could buy 3 years of Gold. Then buy this $1 deal and you will now have 37 months Ultimate.
