That would be a tough argument with Red Dead 2, Mario Odyssey, and Breath of the Wild in the running. All are higher rated, with 97 on Metacritic versus GOW’s 94.

Exactly. It’s common sense. It’s frustrating not to be able to play with your friends when they have the exact same game as you, just on another platform.
I can see only two reasons why someone would be anti-crossplay.
1. They don’t have friends to play with online or their friends all have the same console. Even in this case, I would only expect them to be apathetic to the whole thing. Or...

Switch is only out of random matchmaking with PS4 and Xbox. Players can still invite each other to play Fortnite, regardless of console. Which is the entire point of cross play. To play with your friends that don’t have the same console as you.

Nintendo sure — they are in their own universe with their unique offerings — but Sony? No, I’d say Sony is most in danger. Microsoft is already heavily invested in their upcoming streaming tech and they have the infrastructure/data centers in place. Sony simply cannot compete with giants like Google and Microsoft in this arena. If the future of gaming is streaming, then Sony is in serious trouble.
