Microsoft has the highest market cap of any company in the world. They are currently the only trillion dollar company. So whatever they’re doing seems to be working.
No “lol gamingbolt” comments this time. Hmm...
Considering 4 million consumers across 51 countries were surveyed in the process of creating this list, I assume that consumers view Xbox as more valuable, hence the list!
Microsoft ranked 4th. Xbox ranked 87th. PlayStation did not rank.
It’s less about what Sony did right than what Microsoft did wrong. Microsoft’s failed announcement of the XB1 combined with its higher launch price is what put them in their current situation.
Amazingly, despite all that, they still are very close to Sony in game revenue. 10 billion to Sony’s 14 billion in 2018, despite the PS4 outselling them 3 to 1.

Because last gen it wasn’t true. The business back then WAS how many consoles you sold, and how many software sales that produced. That was a decade ago. We’re now entering the age of services and streaming. It doesn’t matter how many consoles Microsoft sells when you can get Game Pass on PC or stream the games on any device. Microsoft is in the best position heading into the future with xCloud and Game Pass. I’d be very surprised if they don’t pull in the highest revenue of any game company ...
The last true, traditional SC game.
Depends on the types of games you’re interested in. If you’re not a fan of Final Fantasy or JRPGs, it’s quite the opposite. This is the only conference where I just play on my phone 90% of the time and glance up occasionally.
Damn Flight Simulator looks good.
Instantly one of the best moments in E3 history
I remember being amazed by this game’s ragdoll physics on PS2. I hope it holds up well as a remaster.
At least the Halo tournaments will smell better than the Smash tournaments.
If you find PS Now impressive in its current state, it’s safe to say you’ll be absolutely blown away by Stadia.
Microsoft has a market cap of 918 billion, making it currently the most valuable company in the world. Sony is at 59 billion. Compared to Google (Alphabet Inc.) which is at 720B.
918B + 58B = 976B > 720B
After Sony’s bizarre presentation last year, I wasn’t really looking forward to them. With Microsoft, Ubisoft, Bethesda, and Nintendo, I’m just as excited as ever for this year’s E3. Gonna watch Giant Bomb talk over the conferences.
What Remains of Edith Finch
Just finished playing it with PS Plus. Great game!
RE4 has aged better than almost any game I can think of. It’s still rereleased in its original form on every new platform. And Capcom is remaking other games in the series with RE4 controls/camera.
Wow, it’s so different for me. I’ve played almost 200 hours and it still pulls me away from a lot of new games I try to play. I just got Rage 2 and it wasn’t sucking me in. Then I saw RDR2 on my dashboard and just couldn’t resist playing it again. Spent two hours just wandering around, taking in the sights, and hunting some new animals. My backlog keeps growing as I can’t resist going back to Red Dead again and again.
Stardew Valley is awesome on Switch!
PS Plus used to be the undisputed leader in offering value with their online services, but they have really fallen by the wayside in recent years. Reducing the number of free games while raising the price, offering more and more obscure/old games, and with fewer and fewer multiplayer exclusives to make paying for online play worth it... Microsoft followed in Sony’s footsteps adding Games With Gold, but now they really are leading. Add in Game Pass, and there is no competition.
