Imagine if they had just focused on making a great SP experience/game, instead of this always online open world nonsense …
The outrage about the PS5 Pro was about a console being sold, without a disc drive and vertical stand, for 700 bucks, and even (much) more if you’re in Europe (800 euro).
The excitement you see right now is about a console which has a great throwback-design and looks amazing.
It’s also very very limited.
So, expect even more outrage about these decisions from Sony when it turns out most folks excited about this release (purely because ...
Perhaps AI can buy and enjoy their games …
Personally, I’d rather support games by real devs, real artists, paid fairly by their companies.
Cool, I know it’s hip to hate on Ubisoft these days, but I’ve always enjoyed the Far Cry games. No, they’re not perfect, and yeah, they can feel a bit same-y and repetitive considering the structure of these games, so it all stands and falls with the playground offered, the story and the gameplay, but I always know what to expect, which is a fun huge sandbox for me to ‘liberate’, while offering me plenty of different tools to do it with a certain freedom.
Only thing we can ...
Give it a rest, dude …
It’s pathetic.
Would love to see the guest characters this time to be from Masters of the Universe, Thundercats, and perhaps seeing the Turtles making a return, considering how cool they are in Injustice 2.
No, I didn't. First of all. If they had just included the stand in the box you''d save on all that extra packaging and shipping.
But they didn't want to include it, because they want to sell it separately, so they can make a few fistfulls of extra bucks.
Okay, so production cost is LOW! How do I know? Because it's 1 metal screw and a piece of plastic. I've been to Shenzhen, I know for how much stuff is sold there, and that's wh...
Production-price; a few dimes
Retail-price; 20-30 bucks.
Thanks, Sony(!)
"Yeah, an electric bicycle is expensive, but just the engine for my car costs more ... "
It's a dumb comparison. People buy a console because they want - a console -. Yes, a PC can play games, so can a mobile phone, but generally speaking that's not the main reason buy those products.
A console is purely bought to play games. That's its main function. If you're gonna compare it to PCs, then you shouldn't compare it only on pr...
Instead of firing the devs who were forced to turn their games into GaaS garbage, how about firing the arrogant, greedy suits who dismissed all the warnings from gamers who shouted at them that we’re not interested in GaaS … !?
Anyway, those devs will find new projects to work on, big or small, while those suits will remain seated in their thrones and will continue to make dumb decisions which will run their company i to the ground.
No. And mostly it’s not possible because of the greed in the West by those selling broadband/fiber, which is made far too expensive for most households, so they won’t pay for the high speeds.
In Hong Kong we paid 300 bucks TOTAL for a year of 1000gb/s, which was around 650gb/s over wifi, so that’s a good fair price for a great speedy connection. No complaints. Got free Disney+ as well.
In Holland, you’d pay AT LEAST double that money and you wouldn’t even...
It’s an Open World game set in a gorgeous Japanese location and in an interesting era. That’s all I need to be excited about this game.
Yes, you should probably read it if you have an interest in the source-material/inspiration for the game (and Dragon Ball, etc), an interest in Chinese fantasy literature, or just want to enjoy a nice story.
No, you don’t NEED to read the story/book before playing this game.
Just because something is common doesn’t mean it’s ‘normal’.
I was just in Japan, and you’ve got stores with many MANY Playstation games, and many MANY Switch games, and then just one tiny little stand with Xbox ‘games’, and it’s just Gamepass boxes. So they’ll have Forza Horizon and Flight Sim boxes etc, but the boxes just tell you to get Gamepass to play those games. It’s ridiculous.
Of course people are gonna turn away from a gaming console when Microsoft themselves no longer seem to understand and/or care that they are in the gam...
Good list, and kudos to having a list-article where everything is listed on 1 page.
Nine Sols looks nice, and also a bit similar in style to Bo, Path of the Teal Lotus, which should also be a good game (picked it up a few weeks ago but haven't played it myself yet ... )
I guess that whole always online GAAS thingy went exactly how everyone warned them it would go ...
Oh well ...
Scalebound was cancelled because the devs and Microsoft had a big disagreement about what that game should be, to the point where later the devs even stated they were struggling emotionally because of it (depression). It was just a huge uphill battle for them, and in the end it was clear the project fell between different ideas and ambitions.
Never looked interesting to me personally, btw. I really hated the main character design.
Everything on disc and Japanese audio plus English subs would be nice. It's nice that they apologize and state an intent to do better, but honestly this kind of quality-control should have been done in-house during the decision-making process, before release.
I think if THAT’S your red line then you’re already lost. There shouldn’t be any ads on the console, at all.
Not at boot-up, not on the dash, not in the store, and not in the games.
It’s ridiculous.
