‘The industry’ might be going to $80 games, but just speaking for myself, I won’t. I haven’t even picked up a single game over 60 bucks yet, and I never will.
Can’t wait to experience the current ‘golden age of fighting games’ 4 or 5 years orso from now when there are (hopefully) finally some complete editions for sale …
I have no idea what their motivations are, but nothing drives more people from legitimate purchases and towards piracy, than lack of ownership over your purchases, and chipping away at their consumer-rights and ease-of-use.
Switch 2 really went from a ‘Day 1 Must Buy’ to a ‘Might pick one up some day in the future’, because of all the anti-consumer decisions Nintendo has made for their new console …
Japanese Drift Master looks amazing, but sadly PC-only.
Agreed. Skate 3, Def Jam FFNY, Black, Burnout 3, NBA Street v3, TimeSplitters FP, SSX3, Mirror’s Edge, etc etc. Fantastic era, and after that EA just dropped off completely.
If they come without discdrives (built-in) then I’m out …
The industry wants to push the narrative that physical is on its way out and gamers prefer digital. Fact is that many gamers simply have less and less options to buy physical, so they’re stuck with either digital, or nothing.
Many gamers still prefer physical, especially for SP games. Games without ‘always online’ or other kinds of anti-consumer DRM.
I hope they’ll release a complete edition (physical) for Wukong once the announced DLC comes out.
That’s because ‘Big Companies’ are led by know-nothing greedy money-suits these days, who make all their decisions purely on monetization and industry buzz-words …
Would be nice to see a fighting game releasing with the complete roster for a change …
Kudos to Ubisoft for once again going back to older titles and then offering a nice upgrade for free. I know the company gets a lot of criticism, in quite a few cases understandable and justified, but in this area of contintued post-launch support for their SP games, they deserve some credit.
This has killed pretty much all my interest in the Switch 2.
Still no option to play & enjoy these games in the original language. Such a persistent disappointment.
The tech inside is 4-5 years old now, so pretty much everything should already be much cheaper.
Also the tariffs are for the USA, so why are the other countries now paying more? Sony protecting American consumers by making everyone else pay more.
No idea what’s going on with Nintendo and their messaging, but this is once again just a really bad look, no matter how you spin it …
I see absolutely no reason yet to get this system Day 1. Don’t get me wrong, Mario Kart World looks great, but honestly, that’s about it …
AC Mirage is/was a 7/10 game in an era where gamers are spilled for choice when it comes to good/great games, so sales reflect that. Nothing to do with Mirage’s map-size.
As someone who just wants a console to be a console, these are depressing times, TBH.
Honestly, these suits in charge are completely clueless, so they just follow the recent trends and buzzwords, instead of listening to their devs and/or fans.
“Oh, we need to do GaaS! That’s where the money is”
Gamers; “We’re not interested in you doing that. We want you making SP games, like Arkham, like Shadow of Mordor/War”
Suits; “We hear ya, GaaS, always online MP, it’s gonna be great!”
“Okay, that didn’t go as planned. Oof. Okay, ne...
I haven’t even bothered with Spider-Man 2 yet. In fact, I think the only Sony PS5 game I have picked up, has been Ratchet & Clank. I think I paid 20-25 bucks.
No GT7, no GOW Ragnarok, no The Last of Us 2, no Returnal, no Astro Bot etc.
Oh, I have Horizon Forbidden West, but it’s still sealed. Came with the console.
In prior generations, Sony priced their games attractively, because they wanted as many gamers to try out and enjoy al...
