I’ll play Zelda this year, I’ll play SF6 somewhere in the future when there’s a complete edition.

I don’t think it needs ‘a gimmick’ so much, because gameplay is pretty much perfect right now, but I would like the next Mario Kart to do either a ‘track-builder’ thing, so you just get access to the tools and make your own tracks (think Modnation Racers or LBP Karting), and/or expand upon ‘Mario’ Kart and open it up to the rest of Nintendo IPs, and just do a ‘Nintendo Kart’, so we’d see more of Zelda, but also Starfox, Kirby, Metroid, Valkyria Chronicles*, etc.

I’m pretty sure it has looked mediocre ever since the very first reveal, many years ago, when the general consensus from the gaming community pretty much boiled down to; “Wait!? It’s NOT Black Flag 2!? JUST the ship battling portions!? Why!? Who asked for this!?”

What a waste of money. They could have done a proper SP Beyond Good and Evil 2 game, and/or a new Rayman, or a new Splinter Cell, etc.

Personally, I’d rather spend that money on actual complete games …

Everwild for me. Loved the art-design for that, but supposedly it hasn’t really gone smoothly ever since the first announcements, so I’m hoping we’ll see something to reassure that it’s still coming, and it’s still looking good …

I think most of us just wanted X-Com but with Marvel, and they went with a card-game instead. I’m sure it’s a decent/good game, but for me personally, I never had an interest in playing a card game, and I never liked how Midnight Suns looked. I know it was based on a comic series, which is dark and has dark characters, but I’ve never been all that interested in ‘dark’ games, vampires, etc.

On top of that, I just wasn’t impressed with the character-design.

Sucker Punch, not Insomniac, but yeah, fantastic game, very beautiful.

I really hope they make it a spiritual sequel, so it retains the premise of Ghost of Tsushima, but new era, new characters, new story, new location (in Japan of course, but not Tsushima), and just make everything bigger & better, so perhaps more options/possibilities in the combat (weapons, martial arts, more combinations, more tools, etc), more animals, more methods of transportation, swimming, gliding, etc.

Ghost of Shikoku could be nice.

Yeah, agreed, and that’s what’s been keeping me excited the past few years. Smaller devs/indies have been jumping on some genres which have been pretty much abandoned by the big studios.

It feels like all these studios are gambling on scoring big with huge hits of epic proportions, so they’re going for 5+ years of development on huge budgets with hundreds, if not thousands, of folks working on that 1 big project …

… and occasionally that does happen, so they release something truly special, and it’s a big critical and commercial hit.

At least as often, they made that huge investment, then they release it, and it just falls flat, or worse,...

You update the gameplay, graphics and sound to the modern-day standards, you stick to the story you already have, and you expand on all that if/when possible, if it makes sense, and if it adds to the experience, instead of detracting from it.

And you add an option for the Japanese voices.

This has the potential to be great, simply because the original is considered a classic, but with that potential also comes the pressure & responsibility to really d...

I enjoyed the show, well paced, quite a few games that look good, fun, interesting.

That said, as a SONY/Playstation show, it didn’t reveal any new big interesting Playstation-exclusive games, and that’s a bit disappointing. Spider-Man 2 looks good, but we already knew that was coming.

So much for the ‘Nintendo is only charging $70 for the Zelda TOTK game because it’s packed with content and won’t have DLC’ argument.

Because we know the $70 for MK will only get you the base-game, and probably the worst version of that game across all systems. On top of that there WILL be DLC, and it will be expensive as well.

Nintendo is charging $70 because they feel they can get away with it. Perhaps they can.

The game looks gorgeous as it is. Not sure what you’re on about.

Seems like another great indie entry in the classic JRPG genre. We’ll have to wait for reviews of course, but it looks promising.

Another potentially great game, ruined by top-down monetization decisions by greedy suits to nickel & dime their customers, many of them very young.

Oh, I agree with that, and I’m certainly not paying 70+ bucks for a game, but I guess they’re watching what Sony and Nintendo are doing, and so now they’re considering hiking up their prices as well, and TBH, they should first be focused on delivering games which are worth 50 bucks …

1126d ago 4 agree0 disagreeView comment

I mean, I could maybe understand their consideration of charging 70 bucks IF they made a game with the kind of immense quality and scope that Zelda TotK has, but I honestly can’t remember the last time Sega even came close to that kind of major release.

I wonder if it will come with some kind of update/new content, like some other releases had which made the jump from Playstation to Xbox, where they added some nice new stuff, which was also added to the Playstation version …

We’re gamers; we just want a game.

You’re supposed to be a game company; you should be making games.

We. Don’t. Want. ‘GAAS’.

The suits won’t listen, of course.

I'm happy this is set in Hong Kong, easily one of the most beautiful cities in the world, BUT it's a bit disappointing that it's JUST going to use Hong Kong Island, which, to me, is the least interesting part of Hong Kong, especially if we're talking about driving cars around.

Lantau Island (ALOT of gorgeous nature, beaches and mountains) and the New Territories are such beautiful areas to drive around.
