This has just been an absolute mess from the getgo.

Good/great first game, nice characters and world, and all Ubisoft really had to do was simply build on that, so a new SP story-driven action-adventure game. That’s all they needed to do. Bigger & better. That’s it.

Instead, Ubisoft somehow decided, after years and years and years of development-limbo, to make this sequel a GAS open world always online ‘whatever’. And as result, pretty much every fan ...

Should have been an epic fun Single-player story-driven action-adventure pirate game in a gorgeous open world from the very beginning, imo.

Most folks never had any interest in the game ever since it was first announced.

If it was a full-blown (spiritual) Black Flag follow-up, as in a huge epic SP pirate adventure in a gorgeous open world, then sure, it would be cool, but as I understand it, or as it has been promoted, this is -just- the sea-battles stuff.

After how Sony treated Driveclub and that studio, I doubt they’d go back to Sony for seconds.

Driveclub being one of my absolute favorite games ever, btw.

Ignorant, arrogant and just stubborn, I guess. I think a lot of these decisions are made by men in suits who have no clue about why people loved the older Battlefield games and what made them special, but instead just look around at other games which are out, popular, and doing well, and ordering their own devs to incorporate features from those games into their own. So you end up with ‘heroes’, battle royale, ridiculously oversized maps and team-sizes, etc.

They sacrifice...

It’s 9 years since GTA5 first released. Yeah, it sucks for the hard-working devs that they now lose temporary control of the narrative, and everyone understands the footage here is still a very early build on outdated hardware, but at the same time they could have been a bit more open about where they are and what they’re doing.

We’ll see where this goes from now, but I believe they were already planning to tease/show us something before the end of this year anyway.

It kinda depended on the map and how the ‘levelution’ affected it. If you’re an assault type that ran/drove to every flag, I don’t think it made a whole lot of difference on how it affected your match, but if you’re playing as a sniper or are mostly in a boat, and ‘suddenly’ there’s a huge storm, you’d lose your long-range targets and ‘boating’ was more difficult.

I think for most players, some of the stuff was cool the first few times, and after that it was a ‘shrugs’ mome...

As we’ve been saying for years; All Battlefield needs to do/be, is be a Battlefield game. That’s it. That’s all.

It doesn’t need to copy all kinds of features from other games. It doesn’t need legends, or heroes, or battle royale, or whatever. Just 10-12 cool gorgeous fun maps, 32 vs 32 players, 5/6 flag conquest. That’s it. 4 classes, good balance between solo-play & squad-play. Good balance between vehicles & infantry gameplay.

A good Battlefie...

I (mostly) skipped 4 & 5, partly because of the character-design and roster-choices, partly because of the DLC greed, but Street Fighter 6 is really looking tremendous so far. Love the graphics, love the new character-designs, love the stage-designs, and it looks like there’s SP content this time as well, including character-creation and an open world with some brawling stuff.

Capcom has been on quite the comeback trail these past few years, and Street Fighter 6 is shin...

It’s a shame that Japanese developers have been so insecure about the appeal of their own culture & history to the rest of the world, that too often they believed many of ‘their’ games simply wouldn’t do well with a foreign audience, so they kept so many cool ideas, games, comics, movies, shows, etc, mostly to themselves.

The Nioh devs also stated how shocked/surprised they were with the love and success for the first Nioh game.

Personally, I love se...

They can price their games as they seem fit, and we as consumers will decide if we’ll pay that kind of money for their games. I haven’t picked up a single game that was more than 60 bucks, and even when I was interested, quite a few of those expensive games have already dropped from my wish-list and I doubt I’d buy them now when they hit 20-30 bucks.

They allowed the suits in charge at EA to tell them how to make games. Sadly, the suits are absolutely clueless about games, and they’re both to arrogant and ignorant to realize this about themselves.

I don’t mind long games as long as the world you’re in is fun, beautiful and interesting. One of the best ways to add longevity is lots of well-executed mini-games and (interesting and worthwhile) collectables, which reward you for your involvement, and adding a base/town building aspect, where you have free reign in what you build, how it looks, and which characters/NPC’s you invite in there (think DQ Builders 2, but more expansive).

Imagine at/near the end of AC Project R...

I really like Jacqui Briggs, and I’d put her above Sonya and Cassie.

Not a fan of Mileena (I usually don’t care much for the ugly freaks in games), but really like Kitana and Jade.

Hoping to see new footage/info on DokeV, Black Myth WuKong, Little Devil Inside, FF7 Rebirth, and hopefully some big new announcements/surprises.

Well, we all know how Sonic Origins launched and those devs feelings about it …

If the game isn’t ready to be released yet, then don’t.

“ It’s like saying you got Monster hunter Rise and because it had the expansion Sunbreak it’s not a complete experience which is false. Are you going to say bloodborne isn’t a complete experience because the expansion came out after?”

I wasn’t saying that though, did I … ?

Clearly, there’s a difference in what DLC offers, or can offer. The examples you mentioned are clearly ‘DLC done right’. They’re completely new story-lines, environments, enemies, etc ...

How about we just pay 60 bucks and get the complete experience?

“But since the death of the arcade, fighting games have become more niche.“

I don’t think fighting games have become more ‘niche’ because of the death of arcades.

I think fighting games right now are mostly unappealing to mainstream audiences because nowadays you’d buy a ‘base-game’ for 60 bucks, and then you’re expected to shell out 20-30 bucks a few times for multiple ‘season passes’/‘character passes’, in order to get the complete experience.

Because games these days are made by suits who aren’t gamers, but simply look at which other games are popular and bringing in the money, writing those features on a notepad, handing them to the devs and ordering to put that in their game. So then you get a battle royale mode, specialists/heroes, streak-rewards, etc.

While all this time, Battlefield just want one thing; They want a Battlefield game to just be a Battlefield game. That’s it. 4 well-balanced classes, a doze gr...
