It doesn’t, because that was a PS3 game, not PS1.
I agree that was a great series though, including the top-down RC game.
A never-ending shame that Sony killed that studio.
At prof Chaos; Crysis is a very poor example though. The game was EXTREMELY demanding regarding hardware, so folks chose to pirate it for numerous reasons; To check if their system was even capable of running the game properly (in most cases, no it wasn’t), or they had little interest in playing the game, but if they had a new powerful build it would function as a ‘tech-demo’ to show off what their system was now capable off.
Not saying piracy can’t harm sales btw. I have m...
Well duh. Quite a few games I had an interest in a few years ago when they came out, got rave reviews, but had a ridiculous 80 euro price tagged on them, have already completely left my wish-list. I’ve moved on, no longer interested.
Well, they shouldn’t. We’re not asking for AAA-games on billion-dollar budgets with expensive Hollywood rosters of actors doing mo-cap performances and soundtracks by world-renowned composers, in games which will take months or even years to fully explore and finish.
Give us games like Splinter Cell Blacklist, or Uncharted 2, or Ninja Gaiden Black, which were focused AAA experiences in fantastic closed-off locations, and knew exactly what kind of games they were and what th...
Played and enjoyed the demo. It’s not perfect, but it’s promising enough.
- Character creation is nice enough. Not as good as monster hunter world or Nioh 2, but I managed to get a nice character for world tour out if it.
- Arcade gameplay with both Luke and Ryu felt really REALLY good. It already feels much better than SFV ever did.
- Picking Japanese voices (obviously), it was disappointing to see subtitles missing at the start of fi...
Tekken never really appealed to me. It always looked kinda bland compared to more colorful fighters like DOA and SoulCalibur. A shame Tekken 7 never received a new-gen update, or else I would have picked up the Ultimate Edition and given it a try.
Street Fighter 6 looks amazing, so much better than 4 & 5, and could be a return to its glory days, but we’ll have to wait and see.
Not a fan of the season pass greed in fighting games though, so it will be...
This SHOULD be (/have been) an easy system-seller, but sadly it never got the marketing-push and global recognition it should have received. As other have mentioned, this probably should have been offered for free (PS+) or perhaps pre-installed on PS5 (like Astro) for it to take off.
The question is; Why were they (re?) booted?
Was it because they were poor games, or were they booted because suits decided that the post-launch monetization options were missing?
It seems these days suits in charge only care about releasing drip-feed content in order to milk customers dry over a longer period of time, while us gamers hist want a decent SP game, pay for that experience, and that's it. And that SHOULD be it.

This industry needs to stop hiring folks who are in this just to make big money, and they need to start hiring people who just want to make great games and offer value-for-money because they simply want as many folks as possible to enjoy playing what they created (which, as a result, will sell well and make more money than the stuff done by the first group).
Looks cool, and the article mentions you can create your own vehicles, but what I’d really want, is a track-builder, and it would be awesome if you could both use existing (digital) Lego sets, like all the buildings they’ve made for Lego City (toy-line), Ninjago, etc, and plop them around your fictional original Lego tracks, but also just creating your own stuff and plopping that down.
While I agree with your statement that nowadays we often feel we ‘need’ some kind of reward for our efforts to feel good about playing (and it keeps us playing), it’s weird that I can easily still boot up games like Battlefield 1943 and Battlefield 4 and absolutely just have fun by just playing the game.
I think/hope that DokeV is going to be the kick in the butt that Nintendo/Pokemon needs to see where Pokemon needs to go in terms of a gorgeous open world monster collection game with lots of interesting side activities and fun.
Gamers were pretty clear ever since the game was first announced and shown, that this wasn’t going to be the kind of Avengers game they wanted. The suits and devs decided to ignore all the feedback and shove it through anyway. Which is a shame, because I feel there was a lot of potential there with the license and devs, if they had simply put all that focus and effort into an amazing SP game, without all the ‘service’ and loot nonsense.
Wasn’t a fan of the character design ...
Well, will it be a ‘large game’, or will it be ‘a large service’ …?
I’d be excited for the first. I’d shrug at whatever they’d have planned with the 2nd.
F-Zero GX was (is) so so SO good. Would love to see that a proper remaster. Already looked stunning back then, and played so smooth. Gamecube controllers were good as well. I think mine all still work flawlessly.
Never played Skies of Arcadia, but would love to some day.
Power Stone 1/2 deserves a comeback.
I wouldn’t be selling any ‘Deluxe’ edition to begin with. If I would release a game, I’d sell the complete package and everyone gets the same content. That’s it. I wouldn’t feel right about this nickel & dime stuff when I’m already asking folks to put down 60+ bucks to please play and enjoy my game.
Hence why I haven’t picked up Monster Hunter Rise. I see a game I like, I check it out in the store, I see a long list of greedy DLC, I quickly back out.
I don’t mind them charging for actual expansions (Like Witcher 3, the upcoming Cyberpunk expansion, etc) which add on top of an already complete package, but this kind of nickel-and-dime greed only ensures I lose interest real fast.
I like that we’re getting a Disney platformer (loved the Disney 2D stuff on Megadrive and SNES) but would have vastly preferred a SP platformer. I don’t see myself ever playing this, cause it’s co-op, and I rarely play MP.
I love Marvel, and I love strategy games, but I was pretty put off by the dark look and initial character-selection when they first showed the game.
The announcement of expensive post-launch DLC made sure I was never gonna pick this up at launch for full price of course.
I also wish it would have just been ‘Xcom but with Marvel’, cause I don’t really think I’m interested in card-games.
It just seems like they had a massive opportunity ...
You are absolutely correct, dear sir. I hang my head in shame, and I tip my head to you in appreciation for mentioning Motorhead, which was mighty fine indeed!
