@ moldy in a word, streaming. those millions were made up of mostly casual movie watchers, not the enthusiasts. Since then streaming has picked up significantly and that's how most are watching their movies now. IF you have a decent gaming PC there's really no reason to buy an Xbox. It was a very pro consumer move on MS's part but it made my X1 very redundant.
Their hindsight powers are actually pretty good. Just don't take anything current as fact.

Yup, I agree. I'm about to make a near opposite move. I'm going to sell my xbox one and PS4 to get a PS4 pro. I have a gaming PC so my X1` is redundant. and if I get a pro, my PS4 will be redundant as well.
