Not really. he was right in front of a PS4 when he made that comment. The article doesn't give that context. he was asked about this gen's consoles and because of where they physically were, he could point at a PS4. had a X1 been there he'd be saying the same thing about it. This is one of the more shady click bait articles I've come across.
And with these consoles about to be 4 years old, saying they're like 5 year old PCs isn't that far off the mark.

I do agree with him by the way, the PS4 and X1 are almost 4 years old. and they were the equivalents of mid-range ish PCs back then.
In a sense. personally I felt mattrick was better with software and Phil's better with hardware. But I honestly think they both were told what to do with xbox. they advocated for what they wanted and won a battle with the higher ups here and there, but ultimately I think Phil is getting marching orders and is doing what he can.

MS said both. what do you think they were trying to say with "world's first true 4K console". then say it's up to developers. they were trying to trick gamers into thinking it was going to run everything native 4K while leaving themselves an out (ie blaming developers) as soon as the upscaling needed to start. Well I have a gaming PC so a calculator is a threat to X1X. However, if I didn't have any of the gaming platforms, and those were my options, I think I'd still go with X1X.
