I saw through their indie push from the get-go with PS4. I knew their plan was to grab up random indies and use them to fluff their PS+ line-up on PS4. PS+ on PS3 is still worthy, and I subscribed a little before PS4 came out, just because it was such a good deal on PS3.
PS4 paywalled online behind PS+ because they weren't and still aren't confident in their PS+ strategy and line-up on PS4. It was a dirtbag move, and still is, and with all the talk of a possible PS4.5...
I remember looking up Umbra around the launch window of PS4. When they were showing all the middlewares that were working on next gen console versions of their tools. I thought it looked really cool, even though occlusion culling is something that other engines have done forever, it does it using much less resources in general and focuses on doing it to an extreme level and using a better algorithm than most, allowing for much larger and fuller open world areas with great performance. I feel ...
Athena's cool, always liked her. I really do hope they're not done with the visual upgrades though. It certainly looks better than the first trailer. The gfx are still kind of just too generic 3D though, with no specific art style and not quite pretty enough yet.
Exactly, and most games that have any advantage on the new hardware will just be higher FPS and less choppiness in general. It'll basically be the default benefits just from running the game on the higher spec'd GPU, there won't be much fine tuning going on to really take full advantage of the better GPUs, because the higher userbase on the lower spec'd versions of the console.
With X1 having it's exclusives go to PC, and PS4 having more console exclusives...
BWAHAHAHAHA. If true, RIP Nintendo.
@ArchangelMike,
Yeah, I'm gonna give it a few more tries. It'll be more fun if I can get my buddy on PC in on it, and my nephew on PS4 to start playing. I traditionally stay clear of MOBAs, but the vids for this one made it seem cool with the 3rd person over-the-shoulder view and actually having to aim at enemies. I think part of my issue was that I chose the Rampage character, and he's really slow compared to alot of characters and is full melee, I needed some ra...
LOL, it's cool and all, but not the best example video for destruction physics. A few, separate building blocks falling? It'd make more sense to show a small house or something getting broken apart, so you see how the physics divides up the broken pieces that were once a whole. This just shows extremely basic physics, not robust destruction physics.
I spend $20 to get in on Paragon on PS4. I'm not really a MOBA player, and the one co-op game vs CPU I played wasn't that exciting. I hope I didn't waste $20. Hopefully it gets a bit more action packed by the time it goes live for everyone else as a f2p.
"Overall- what a mess. To hear, right before release, that the promised premier Xbox One graphical exclusive will be playing second fiddle to its allegedly eleventh hour PC port, has undoubtedly got to be disappointing for a lot of people."
Stupid articler, who wouldn't have expected the X1 version to play second fiddle to the PC version? Same goes for any console version going up against a PC version. Even if it was 1080p on X1, it was still gonna have the abil...
Article says it's slated for PS5, hah.
Very dumb idea. It would just solidify my thoughts of it being time to go full PC and upgrade to a gaming PC once and for all. With all the paywall online, and overpriced games on consoles, and the fact that most games, even exclusives are going to PC nowadays, it seems the best route. You get games for cheaper, that look the best, and you don't pay for online. I don't see myself buying another console after PS4 regardless, just based on all the anti-consumerism going on in general wi...
Except the N64 expansion pack was sold separately and you could add it to any N64. It wasn't a standalone new version of the N64 that you had to pay full price for.
Still needs a few more graphical upgrades before release. I'm interested though.
:)
Where's the dynamic-ness? Seems like one of the less stellar themes. No reason to change from the Oddworld Dynamic theme yet.
Haha, Capcom prolly feeling silly for the Mika buttsmack censoring at this point. I really don't get the censoring, especially when immediately after they released the Laura alt costumes that they put out.
Seems like this article is flame bait.
Yeah, more Ratchet & Clank. Jak & Daxter was going a more open-world RPG route on the last one. This is more regular platformer.
LOL, I gave up on asking that question years ago. Them coming out with a followup console with the same name and same gimmick with only a marginal mark-up in power over consoles that released over 6 years before it in the Wii U was the nail in the coffin for me. They lost their way when it comes to common sense in the hardware market.
"The problem is the never ending begging and entitlement" ~ Oh god, smh.
If someone only gets PS+ on PS4 because they simply want to play 1 or 2 games online, like SFV or BF4 or BO3, there is something very wrong with that. The PS+ subscription isn't adding dedicated servers or any benefits to playing those p2p games online, it's simply a paywall, blocking you. PS3 was awesome for not jumping on the MS bandwagon with robbing consumers in that sense, PS4 is j...
