...What an immature response.
Now, what big PS1 RPGs are still left?
Suikoden II is the big one. But as for all the others... well, I'm pretty damn happy with the PSN's PS1 line-up (RPG-wise). If only the Vita could join in the fun.
I'm going to say no.
The future of warfare is automated. No more soldiers, just clerks sitting in front of screens pressing buttons. Reducing the human cost to no more than flashing pixels.
Games dehumanize warfare enough; future war is, I think, too dehumanizing for games to manage. Hell, even the more recent CoD games have a hell of a time presenting the player with any real sense of danger or challenge (from a setting/narrative perspective). Replace al...
I'm not a big fan of God of War (that awful, awful writing) so I haven't been following this GoW4 stuff at all, but in THEORY, multiplayer could be huge and draw in a far bigger fanbase than the single-player only offerings ever could.
Of course, it would probably take a lot of work to get a good GoW multiplayer game built, and likely require lots of engine work. But I think it'd be worth it to play online as Zeus or Hades, or Heracles or a Titan. The whole Greek ...
Retake ME3 is an interesting movement. We've seen similar "protest" movements crop up from time to time in the media, most notably the recent fiasco(s) re: Nintendo of America's relationship with Xenoblade, The Last Story and Pandora's Tower.
Retake ME3 is unique, however, in that they don't really have a clearly defined goal. It's basically just a convenient figurehead for all of the negative sentiment EA-Bioware has accrued over the years, whos...
Indeed. And the Vita's game-line up is getting to be absolutely stellar this summer... in Japan.
That's the real reason the 3DS and Vita (and PS3, while we're at it) tend to look so bad early on: we're stuck in a perpetual catch-up cycle for the localization of Japanese titles, often putting us a year or more behind.
If the Vita had the exact same library internationally as it does locally, we'd see a lot fewer of these inane articles danc...
So snow elves and new weapons? Can't say I'm too terribly interested. That would seem to indicate that the (first) DLC will feature solely on Skyrim, so no new areas.
If Bethesda thinks TES' appeal lies in its narrative and gameplay... they really don't understand their product at all.
Sony has a long and storied history of taking great ideas and... ruining them.
But, yeah, most of the hate comes from the fact that it's on Sony's console--that, from a gamer's perspective, is blowing the competition out of the water now and has been doing so for... quite a while.
Just think back to when the 360 was coming out and you saw all that hate directed at, say, Tales of Vesperia and Losy Odyssey. Or the 3DS and Kid Icarus now. It's th...
I'm really sick of people using a super-generalized term like "graphics" to discuss very specific things.
Xenoblade's problem, if it has one, is a lack of fidelity coupled with very, very detailed art design.
As humans, we have developed very complex verbal systems so that we can communicate clearly with one another. Those who are unable of saying what they mean are incapable of meaning what they say.
Specificity, folks: it ...
People need tips? I've gotta say, I absolutely adore the Vita's battery/charging stuff. I put it to sleep, and there's no drain on the battery at all--whereas my 3DS seems to drain the battery just as much when the system is 'asleep' as when it's active.
Christ, I'm rarely able to crack open my 3DS in the morning without it being dead. My Vita? It's always ready to go.
Oh no! My emotional state is intrinsically linked to the financial health of my favorite megacorporation! Quickly, I must devote an inordinate amount of time and effort to devise rhetoric downplaying this news to preserve my fragile ego!
...You're kidding, right?
If we're lucky, we'll get two endings.
Honestly, does no one remember Fallout 3? Or, hell, Mass Effect 3? That was only last month.
Top 5... of all time?
Hm....
Well, I'd have to go with Fable (any), Daikatana (obviously), Mass Effect 3 (holy ****), the Square-Enix merger and all of the (new) Final Fantasy titles they produced, and, hm.... what's a good fifth?
I'd have to say trophies/achievements and the new age of NO-FUN "hardcore" gaming they ushered in.
In terms of quantity there may well be more games being released now than last gen. But the current game market is VERY homogenous. In terms of unique game concepts, we're lucky to get half a dozen a year. And of those six, we're damned lucky if even one is an new IP.
Gotta love how they're using the same low-res sprites upscaled to fit the background.
As a musou fan, I'm pretty disappointed with it myself. AI is awful, missions homogenous, and the story delivery is bottom-tier awful.
That last bit was probably the most disconcerting for me. After DW7, it almost seemed like Tecmo-Koei knew what they were doing.
What an idiot. Touch screens have ALREADY saved the adventure genre. Many, many years ago.
You can thank Nintendo.
A very, very minor part, more indicative of the generally low-quality of effort put into the game than anything else.
Dragon Age 2's sales were also very good for that first month. But then came the decline--and what a sharp decline it was.
I imagine we'll see something similar for ME3.
It's vaporware. So long as they never release it, fans can still look at it as a "promise" that S-E is still a competent developer.
They can still say, "Oh, sure Final Fantasy XIII sucked, but Versus is on the way and it'll make up for past failures!"
They can still say, "Oh, sure Final Fantasy XIII-2 sucked, but Versus is on the way and it'll make up for past failures!"
They can still say, "Oh, ...
