Halo odst is the same as gt5p.
For the content to value I actually think the odst provides more entertainment than gt5p.
So it's a bias, and not because they actually felt the games were better or worse...
In the game series Marathon they...
1. created the first instance of ambient AI, ie, ai that is neither enemy nor friend.
2. created the first mission based objectives in a shooter, where you'd look at a terminal, find out what you had to do then did it. Prior to which all shooters had the minimal requirement of killing everything in a zone to pass.
3. First game to dual wield (arguable).
4. First instance of environmental effects, where you had to search out oxygen to...
But even so, the tessellation on the gas mask is quite noticeable.
And I'm not going to complain about higher pnumbra on the shadows.
I guess it's a difference of opinion. Neither sony, nor MS, have shown me anything which gives them the leg up over one or the other.
And vice verse, MS could also be holding back. Remember though, Sony had their keynote and press conference. If they were going to announce anything truly impressive I would've bet it would've been done by now.

It's not about being revolutionary, it's about good developers turning a casual trend into something that could, emphasis on could, appeal to the hardcore.
Whether it's through a mix of gamepad and motion-sensing or if it's through head-tracking/motion based visuals or if they design a completely new genre.
My point is that good developers often make good products with whatever they choose to use, and I hope that trend continues with sony's wand and MS's natal.
And to think even I had thought the 360 was being put to it's max but gears 2, then along comes forza 3, splintercell and alan wake. There's still a ton of room for growth this generation.
No matter how much we don't want for motion controls to become the norm it's going to happen.
I hate motion controls, my wii has been sitting on a shelf for like 6 months now, doing nothing.
But if it's going to happen, I'd rather see it happen in the hands of visionaries of their fields like Inafune and kojima, and in an attempt to make it for the core gamer.
just stunning.
for what part of the body?
zing
that the first game people always make for new hardware is some form of pong, either table or real tennis?

natal could just do head-tracking to make it 3d, and nintendo could release glasses that do the same thing. Both of which wouldn't require an expensive 120htz(or w/e) monitor.

So don't claim victory for anyone yet.
They want to re-launch the entire console with the backing of natal and halo reach so likely wont see much of either until about 6 months prior to the release ~fall next year.
MS wants to make it huge, and if there's one thing MS knows how to do is market, sell and make things huge. (xbox controller joke fyi :P)
When both games are showing gameplay it's hard for me to notice a difference between the 2.
And by gameplay I mean the cars driving, not the pre-rendered choreographed with special lighting and special depth of field filters going on.
makes it sound like it's related to video content and not game content.
More likely reach or legend stuffs.
head to the neogaf thread and take another looks at the maps.
The new test track and the fantasy maps are all stunning, where as the real maps continue to be as close to the bland real-life as ever.
That gameguru.in are talkers and not doers?
or is it teresa duke that's the talker?
