I hope Microsoft proof tested the XSX Disk drive, because apparently, millions of Xbox and X360 disks will violate that 12 Teraflops machine from day one!

The choice is not about XSS vs PS5 Digital it’s more like XSS + XSX vs PS5, which for obvious reasons PS5 will be the best seller.

People don't easily change "ecosystem" and so coming from current generation:

- XSS+XSX starts with a 40M+ user base potential interested in keeping within Xbox ecosystem;

I think that with Microsoft efforts into marketing the Gamepass and an entry-level machine like XSS, Microsoft will sell be...

It’s up to the developers to optimize their games to take advantage of all new hardware features.

I am sorry to say but, is not impressive at all to see a last-gen 1080p game being loaded faster, without modification, on the SSD of a new machine compared with the HDD of the old machine. Because, that’s just a straightforward HDD vs SSD comparison.

It’s much more impressive to see new truly next-gen 4K highly detailed games transitioning between worlds alm...

Will be funny if Sony released a PS4 Family Pack for just $199, with 3-5 high profile games (i.e. better than anything you will get on the XSS for the first couple of years) and a 3-6 month PS Plus, on sale by November 1st.

Doesn’t even need to be PS4 Pro.

The message would be. Did you skipped this generation greatness and you’re not yet ready for true next-gen? Here is the best and most affordable 1080p gaming console, featuring the best selection of ga...

"I suspect some of the people making the negative comments don't have kids. Families are expensive and when the budget is tight, it makes alot of Sense. Especially when you throw in Game pass. Something the Switch doesn't have."

Are you talking as a parent? Because as a parent you should be responsible for what you let your kids play and the time they spend playing. That said, Nintendo systems (i.e. console and games) have been historically...

@DJStotty

Past trends have to do with everything when you wanna make assumptions about the future. With what data do you assume XSS will be the parents choice for kids this Christmas? What in the last 3 Christmas of Xbox + GamePass and Switch on the market leads you to make such assumption?

Just because you think Game Pass has a better offer now? Because XSS is a "new" console that ironically offers nothing new to play this Christmas?

And did you concluded that based on what exactly?

1) Xbox One S + Game Pass its available since 2017.

2) Nintendo Switch is available since 2017.

3) Since then we had Christmas 2017, 2018, 2019.

What were the sales trend for both systems and games? How many parents actually bought an Xbox One S + Gamepass for their kids?

You explain a misconception with another misconception.

Microsoft showed the multiplayer mode of a last-gen game updated to run 1440p@120FPS, yes! However, that's not representative at all of how XSS will play truly next-gen games.

It is NOT true that most PS5 games will be 4k@30fps. Many next-gen games will be 4k@30fps on both XSX/PS5. However, most next-gen games will be targeting 60fps on both XSX/PS5, not 120fps, and they will do 4K native whenev...

After 7 years playing an amazing PS4 Library, I don’t see how this Series S is that much of attractive as a next-gen product.

While I am a still enjoying Ghost of Tsushima in 2020, I am ready to fully jump to a next-gen cycle.

That will only truly happen with the likes of the PS5/XSX as base platforms, not XSS. And for obvious reasons PS5 will take the lead, but that’s just a detail that shouldn’t matter for the discussion.

Honestly, XS...

The one thing I loved about this journey to the next-gen consoles was to observe how these Millennials are so superficial on their judgements and desires.

Last generation, the PS4 Pro 4k with hardware check-boarding was not good enough. The Xbox Series X with its 12Tf would be the only one to achieve the Native 4K next-gen requirement that even the less 2Tf PS5 would struggle, have been a 6 month endurance narrative.

But hey, look now. All of the sudden w...

To make it fair, I would challenge that to build a brand new PC with something like an RTX 3070 + 8-core CPU + 1TB NVME + RAM + PC Case + Motherboard + PSU + 4K BluRay (you don't need but consoles have it) + Windows 10 license (I said to be fair you need to go to the point of considering this), would be easily above $1000. And it's still primarily a Desktop-like experience.

I understand the generational leap with these new RTX 3000 series, for which I am also very ...

Why nonsense?

The new PS5/XSX is coming with SOC of 16GDDR6 shared memory through an 8-core CPUs architecture and a 10~12 Teraflop GPU and using fast NVME SSD storage. Most likely they will be $499/$599 complete systems ready out of the box and let's not forget "details" like 4K Blu-Ray player, controller, etc.

So yah, you made my point because your $1000 PC is already 2 times more expensive and besides GPU which is indeed new/more powerful ...

I didn't knew you could just buy a RTX 3070 and connect to the TV and play with your new Dual-Sense.

1983d ago 8 agree1 disagreeView comment

Exactly! You made my point. A $1000 PC powered by a Ryzen 5 (6-core) CPU and a regular 2.5” 512GB SSD, just because it has a RTX 3070.

That’s not a balanced setup in my point of view. You invest $500 on a next-gen GPU and then you cap yourself with a Ryzen 5 and a regular 2.5” 512 SSD.

Still, double the price of a PS5/XSX system.

As I said, comparing PCs with Consoles and trying to make a point that PCs are better is just a dumb compar...

These PC vs Console comparisons are always dumb as hell.

The narrative is always the same. Now its that a RTX 3070/3080 costs similar to a PS5/XSX and its much more powerful.

But since then PC GPU's play by themselves? PS5/XSX are not $499/$599 GPU's. They are complete fully functional systems right out of the box. It's only obviously that consoles are also built on the compromise to be affordable to the masses and there is nothing wrong with ...

You have no notion of how this industry works.

On Hardware, both PS5 and XSX hardware are the result of several years (and millions of $$) on R&D with partners like AMD. And let's not even talk about the investment that is needed to translate the final hardware into mass-producing the final console SKU. Both PS5 and...

Nothing wrong with delaying a game in order to deliver a better game. But for me that's an independent matter from the total disaster this really represents from Microsoft and Xbox, once again:

1) A game years in the making with virtually "Infinite" budget when putted into perspective;
2) A marketing strategy around XSX ramped up recently with the support of having Halo Infinite both as launch title and as a day one GamePass marketing flag;
