I don't understand why so many people think they know how much a "video-game" worth and how it should be priced. Do you also do that for other products?

So when you say a game shouldn't cost $60 but $30, whats your financial logic behind that argument?

It's the market that decides how much Nintendo worth and how much Nintendo can charge for their products. Same for every other company.

People just can't satisfy themselves with anything nowadays. How boring and depressed you must feel to write such an article like this? Do you even spent the deserved high-quality hours the Switch system and library currently offers?

Switch is an amazing system by itself and it has an amazing high-quality library of games released over the years and innovative accessories.

For me, bringing the best WiiU games to the system is welcoming, since they are...

Usually, 30fps is fine until you experience the same game at 60fps.

I also want enjoy the best visuals effects possible, but if they can be delivered at 60fps with no major compromise, the better. That's why I believe the Dynamic-4K resolution at 60FPS is the best compromise for XSX/PS5. Enough with the Native-4K demands.

PS5 Launch: 2.1 ~ 2.5M
XSX|S Launch: 1.1 ~ 1.4M

The trend of 2:1 seems set from the beginning as expected.

You will not notice too much difference if all you use to compare are old-gen games running through BC. The quality of the game is set with old-gen standards and the improvements through BC are little and subtle.

I believe that the difference will be much greater through the course of this new generation. Not only resolution as promise, but in almost quality settings.

Indeed the PS5 has a better SSD. It’s just factual.

These are just PS4 Pro vs Xbox One X loadings through BC on the PS5 and XSX, without the seek times of the HDD.

Otherwise how can you explain that while faster than the current consoles all those loadings are still very slow for PS5 and XSX standards?

2038d ago 16 agree6 disagreeView comment

There is no bootleneck on the I/O to RAM on the PS5 and XBX so it’s nothing to duo with that.

It’s loading of PS4 Pro vs Xbox One X versions off the game executing through BC without the typical seek times of the HDD. Just that. So the whole the loadings are faster on the new system due the absence of seek times, the difference is the same relatively speaking.

What's the fuzz anyway? Aren't all of these games just current-gen games designed for HDD on PS4 Pro and Xbox One X being executed on PS5 and Xbox Series X through BC?

Then, unless these games are patched, there are absolutely no advantage of both the PS5 SSD and the XSX SSD in this comparison other than the elimination of the typical Seek Times of the HDDs.

Which means that what you are seeing is not PS5 Loading vs XSX Loading, its literally PS...

"Comparisons have absolutely nothing to do with being "optimised", this is sheer clean load speed direct from the Internal SSD."

Think about what you're saying for a moment. How these could have be "clean load speed direct from the Internal SSD" and the slower one being slightly faster than the fastest one?

This is clearly a misleading comparison because these are old-gen games that had a bunch of old-...

This comparison is completely misleading.

1) The PS5 boots the PS4 Pro version of the game;
2) The XSX boots the XOX version the the game.
3) These games were optimized differently on their original platforms in terms of storage system.
4) These games run on the new systems through back-compatibility.

A more meaningful comparison would be comparing multi-platform games optimized and compiled for the new systems. A PS5 system loa...

What people expect from day-one lineup anyway? Why people are so unreasonable?

Putting both on the same plate is a complete disrespect to gaming. Is like having games or not having games is exactly the same, which in fact, is exactly the opposite.

Auto-HDR, Higher-Res and Higher-FPS are all applied per title basis on XSX. Some of the games used by Microsoft to promote BC, like Gears 5, where fully patched.

More stable FPS and more stable dynamic-resolution is something that comes for "free" both on XSX and PS5. But doubling the FPS and increasing the Resolution would require the games to be patched. What Microsoft does nicely for some titles, is that can also run the original game at doubl...

I get your point, I also don’t find pleasure in the “Throphies/Achievements” system. But to be fair, it is an independent system from the real game progress. If you hate them so much it would be very easy to ignore them, like I do.

I have enjoyed from all the best critically acclaimed PS4 games, in a sense I completed them as they were designed to be completed. I never cared about the thropies.

Your opinion on a new UX experience that you didn’t experienced yet worths zero. The usefulness of the cars is obvious, since they are designed to inform you about your game progress, supported by “spoiler-free” tips and nearly-instant access to the gameplay. But it’s efficiency depends on how developers will support it and how users will use them.

Yes it says it is optimized for XSX/XSS. It features the optimized badge on the cover, and also says it on the website.

The problem is that the “Optimized for XSX” is just another bullshit marketing crap Microsoft brought to advertise XSX. It means literally nothing else than the fact the game is compiled using the XSX dev kit and therefore runs natively and not through back compatibility. There are absolute no minimal requirements for a game being Optimized for XSS/XSX oth...

"Whereas gamers could simply swap out the primary HDDs/SSDs on their PS3 or PS4 consoles should the drives ever fail, there are no such options on the PS5. All SSDs, be it soldered or removable, have endurance values measured in MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) or TBW (Terabytes Written). If assuming all other parts of the console will run without any issues in the interim, the internal 825 GB SSD will eventually fail and be irreplaceable. Whatever happens next to the rest of the consol...
