Sony still owns consumers a lot of clarification about many PS5 features.
Mark Cerny presentation was months ago and was not targeted for mass-market consumers. Thus, the main source of confusion is indeed the lack of official "clear and simple" information or advertisement from Sony at less than 90 days from launch. It gets even more frustrating because Microsoft is already advertising many features we expect on PS5 too.

- Sony Corp is valued at $95.5 Billion.
- Nintendo is valued at $67.8 Billion.
- Square-Enix is valued at $7.6 Billion.
- Capcom is valued at $5.9 Billion.
- Sega is valued at $2.9 Billion.
Not only backwards compatible but also backnamed compatible.
Not sure what to think of this, since MS doesn't have a good track on this type of move.
I've been playing PS4 greatest AAA games since 2013 and I still got impressed with the likes of SpiderMan Miles Morales, Demon Souls, Hogwarts Legacy and Ratchet & Clank, specially being PS5 first-generation titles. At least with PS5 you can already have a decent next-gen Christmas in 2020.
But as it seems, some people will still prefer to play the "thousands" of old and the current Xbox games on the "new" XSS for Christmas. I mean, I bet million...
Of course, you will not be mind blown by the likes of XSS/XSX "thousands" of old gen + current gen games, but you will with the likes of the few truly next-gen PS5 launch titles and beyond.
Long-term sales for XSS vs XSX/PS5 will prove your assumptions are wrong, but long-term sales for XSS+XSX vs PS5 will prove something more.
During the event they showed the PS5 versions which are far superior. After the show they announced there will be PS4 versions of some of the announced PS5 games.
What’s the drama? You got upset because they didn’t clearly stated that information on the PS5 event itself? Move on, the event was 5 days ago and the world knows about the PS5 games that will also have PS4 versions, so is not things are misleading.
SpiderMan Miles Morales standard edition is 50Gb. The 105Gb is for the Ultimate Edition that includes the Remaster of the original SpiderMan (2 full games).
One misconception of many people is to think XSS trades-off resolution for frame-rate performance, like almost suggesting that will run the games at faster FPS than PS5/XSX just because will render at lower resolution and lower settings.

Sony ordered a production of 14M+ until March 2021. There is no way they have 11M ready for November 12th, 2020.
They already confirmed that they will have more PS5's at launch than PS4's, which with the trends of selling out quickly, is already a good sign of how the adoption rate of PS5 will be higher than the PS4.
So at best, PS5 will sell over 14M+ in the first 5 months. Not on the release day.
PS2 passed the 150M+ but I remember that it had several redesigns and several cut prices. PS2 was $99 on its last years.
What is impressive with PS4 is that it had only one redesign and just one price adjustment and already passed the 110M+ barrier. PS4 can still sell decently for the next couple of years, provided Sony makes at least one price adjustment to the PS4 with the PS5 on the market. Probably, PS4 all time sales will be above 120M+.

There is not perfect solution for this. At the end of the day, the system must have a common base for the masses. Otherwise, it would be impossible to have the $399/$499 sweet spot price for this machine.

Once the dust passes, people will realize that Sony focus on generations is genuine.

Logically, not everybody has to buy a PS5 on day one. PS5 will be around for years to come, so you can jump in whenever you are ready. That's exactly why its important for Sony keep serving the existent 100M+ PS4 userbase while gradually focus all efforts on the new PS5.
That said, in terms of mass market the decision of having both SpiderMan Miles Morales and Horizon 2 with PS4 versions will not affect the PS5 adoption rate. The people who are already ready to move to ...
"What if" you could be better by being worse? That's a new low way of marketing it.
XSS was designed has an entry-level machine that is able to run the same games of XSX at lower resolution, lower visual settings, and same FPS. This is something different. This is a collection of best PS4 games as part of the PS+ service available to all PS5 users. So if you never had a PS4 and you buy a PS5 and sign up for PS+ you will have access to that collection immediately.
